I think Yao still has to play with his national team, but that is it. I don't know how many times they play, though. They may have some tournaments this summer or may not. If they do, he may have to log in some more serious minutes. I don't know the schedule for this summer.

BTW, he sort of is all-NBA now. He has no leagues to go to. However, he can volunteer for to play for his country. (or be forced. I don't know how it works there. Almost wish we forced our all-stars. :) ) That's all I know.

I use to be concerned with this, but now I really think that the play time will only make him stronger! He is a soldier and can get tougher...

At least, I hope this is the case.

Yao HAS to...unless he wants to be like WangZhiZhi and stay in the USA!!! :) But he doesn't have anything to do in the summer. They just practice together. The Olympics are in 2 years. This year, he should be able to go to Chinatown and get a driver's license and hang with Steve. He can start weightlifting as well. COMIN 2 AMERICA

They still have other games besides the Olympics. I don't know if there are many or any this summer, but they usually have some kind. I remember reading about their games this summer and I want to say they played in at least 2 or 3 other tournaments besides the World Games thing in the US. Granted, most of them were pretty small with Yao facing like 6'3" centers or something like that. Plus, there may be a tournament that China may want to play in to get a chance at the Olympics. I think the US now has to win the Battle of the Americas, or something like that, to make it to the Olympic tournament.

However, I could be wrong. Maybe he just stretches with them for three days and then he can go home and play his video games.

To my knowledge, because China lost its Championship in the Asian games in 2002, the Chinese national team has to play for the qualifying game in summer 2003 for the 2004 Olympics. If China wins the Asian games in 2006, then Yao can have a very good rest in summer 2007 :)

That's too high of an expectation. If he failed, you would be very disappointed.

Let's not make prediction. See what happen and enjoy!

I have no idea. I didn't even think he'd do this well right now. With training and practice, he could be near unstoppable.

Oh well, I'll give it a try:
    03-04- 21ppg 11rpg 2.5bpg
    04-05- 25ppg 13rpg 2bpg
    05-06- 26ppg 13rpg 2bpg

Just numbers off the top of my head. Didn't really put much thought in them.

Yao is very loyal for his country and said he was "honored to represent his glorious homeland" during the WC. I don't think he'll defect.

The centers he faced in China weren't 6'3", btw. In the finals, he went against a 7 footer I believe.

Yes, but that is like the NBA. He played and got paid for his play, like the players in the NBA. These games are for his country and are like the Olympics or World Championships. He plays with his country's best players just like we do here, or something like it.

    good point!!!

he retired from the season league...the like NBA league ...CBA.

But he still represents his country. They have like Asian Games and stuff. But I still don't think they will ask him to go the whole summer. Anyways, all he does in his free time is SLEEP and play computer games. :) He loves to sleep. Man...lol the centers are 6'3" over there...

YEAH...and I think Yao will never be scoring 30 ppg over a year...he will have games with 30 ppg....but not a season. Man...that would be good though. But I don't see him being like Tracy McGrady...BUT ACTUALLY. If we passed to him 3 times moer.....which isn't that much....man....he could score that much. IF he was our main option....

    ANyways...

THE ONLY REASON YAO CAME TO THE NBA WAS TO REPRESENT CHINA AND IMPROVE HIS SKILLS...lol yeah right. But anyways...he's too loyal. He's VERY loyal. He would never do a WangZhiZhier.

i dont hink those are too high of expectations for yao. do u wanna know why? he is a rising star which means he already has high expections and i bet that he has real high rising numbers because he has the potentiol. and he has a "silent swagger" upon him. he is not cocky like alot of american athletes. but he does know when he steps on that court that he is the best thing out there. AND MARK MY WORDS.... he will be the nba's embassador soon. in other words he'll be the leagues best player.
