Not a fan of the architecture, but what's most disappointing is the library. Too few bookshelves as most of the space is devoted to large windows and such.

This man has one of the best personal libraries I have ever seen. It includes a Sputnik 1 .

You do know that NYC is like a 6 hour car ride from the Buffalo area right?

Actually the Bills have set themeselves up nicely ever since the start of the Toronto series and as such there name never comes up in relocation talks. When news comes of the different people who are lineing up to buy the team once Ralph passes (he's not leaving it to his kids) there is no talk of the team moving. The reason is that Buffalo has done a great job over the past 5-10 years of regionalizing there team. Without getting into too much of a geography lesson, the Bills have a strong following in places like Rochester and Syracus which are within 2 hours of Buffalo and part of Western New York. In addition they are about an hour away from Hamilton Ontario and two hours away from Toronto. Once you factor in those markets that gives the Bills close to 10 million people in there fan zone.

Now the NFL is all about tv ratings. The bigger ratings the more money they get from the networks when the contracts are up. There is no way the NFL pulls out of Buffalo and losses those potential viewers.

    It's incredible what he's done.

When you think "okay, who is the best defensive player in the NFL?", does Mario Williams name even come up? I think of guys like Suggs, Willis, Ware, Revis, Jared Allen, Ngata........yet, Mario is getting paid more than all those guys.

53 sacks in 6 years doesn't exactly bring to mind Bruce Smith. Smith had 77 sacks in his first 6 years.

2 million seems kind of cheap for someone that just got paid like he did.

That looks like a house you would see in River Oaks, old style for old people.

It's hard to pull in great ratings when all your local markets are blacked out because you can't sell out home games.

Hard to sell out home games when you haven't had a playoff team since the Clinton administration.

    You are right.

However, he has youth on his side. Plus last year , 5 games in 5 sacks. His agent at least had something to work with (his physical size included).

It's hard to sell out your home games also, when half of them are played in like sub-40 degree weather.

Seriously, though, I've been to a game at Ralph Wilson (two or three years ago...the game Owen Daniels blew his ACL out at), and it's a great place to watch a game. We had great seats. I sat next to the tunnel, about 10 feet off the ground. I yelled at OD as he limped off the field before halftime. Told him we needed him. He smiled at me, somewhat pathetically.

The part that made the game great, though (as opposed to say Cleveland), was the Bills fans. They're truly a passionate group of fans that love their team, but they don't get too crazy. They jabbed at me the whole game, but in a playful way. It was fun.

Browns fans, on the other hand, are so depressed from never winning anything that they're bitter and angry. They were trash talking my father in law in the fourth quarter of a game that they were losing by 30 points. It's just depressing going there.
