*NBA.com states that he was drafted in the second round of the 1997 draft by Golden State, but they do not elaborate on where he has been playing since then because this is the first time I have ever heard of him. His height is said to be 6-10 and he weighs about 270. I wonder why Erick Dampier hasn't played the last couple of games and this guy has. NBA.com also states that before tonight's game his previous career high in points was 20 against the Jazz on 12/9 and in that same game he pulled down his career high in rebounds with 5. Talking about production from an unknown! He sure is taking advantage of the playing time given to him!

Jackson played in Turkey from the time he was drafted until this year.

Doesn't have the defensive ability of Dampier or even Foyle, and hasn't rebounded especially well, but definitely a boost offensively -- good at catching the ball and finishing inside, and up to 3-point range outside. As last night showed, once he gets into a groove with the jump shot, he can stay there awhile.

Dampier is out with soreness in the knee he had surgery on last year. He looked fine early in the season, until Cowens decided to play him 39 minutes/game in the first four games of an Eastern road trip in mid-November. Since then, his knee has been swelling up (has had to have it drained a few times). There's a slight chance he'll play Thursday, but even if he does he'll be very rusty.
