I don't idolize Yao. I say negative things about Yao, too. The difference is, I can back up what I say.

If you think defending your opinion is a waste of time, then your opinion was a waste to begin with.

The problem lately with the bbs is that people come in here and start babbling right and left about whatever and absolutely can't back up anything they're saying. As a matter of fact, in many cases, the stats, numbers, whatever contradict what they say.

You have to understand the least you can do is defend your own argument when confronted. So you'll have to forgive me if I don't really put much value in your opinion which you cannot or will not back up when challenged.

    N'joy. ;)

And what exactly are you basing that on? Stats? No. Yao has better all-around stats. Impact on team? R U kidding? The way Yao plays directly affects how the Rockets play...unlike, as of now, Stoudemire. How the HELL can you say he is a better player. Even deaf and dumb ESPN reporters know that Yao is better than stoudemire.

    what 's wrong with u? Be a man,ok?
    80%+ posters who idolize Yao???
    STOP!!!
ur word:"Yao's ceiling is a lot higher. Yao will be a superstar."
my word:'yao at worst, Rik Smith "(2002 june....)

Ur point is Stoudemire is a better player than Yao now.
You're basing 1 week's performance to defence ur point.
    So..
Stoudemire is better than Garnett now???
    now=tonite??? what 's xxxxxx brain !

Dr of Dunk :¡°You made a point. I'm asking you to prove it. Why? Because I have numbers to prove that you are wrong. Now if you want to whine from the start, you've already admitted defeat. ¡±

    PLS prove it......

I say we start a topic and collect all posts that are this stupid. Then if the Rockets lose, we all can go and read these post and laugh our troubles away.

NEVER.... EVER.... try to challenge Dr of Dunk, Clutch, or Jeff.

Dr of Dunk can dissect you inside out with his stats, plus he has the power to LOCK you out in the darkness.

    Actually, Stoudamire averages more minutes (30.3 - 26.3) and more rebounds (8.8 - 7.6).

BTW, let me show you I'm not a big pessimist. "HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y'ALL". Go, clutch crew. Thanks for all your hard work. I'll make my donation to support this unprecedent forum.

    To prove you just that:
And I bought stocks from Dynergy. And I still go to the game. And I still vote Yao Ming, SF, CAT for allstars. Go Rockets!!

Possible, I suppose. Not necessarily likely, either...
Um, it can't get worse than this.
Name me one team where this isn't a possibility.
We already had the league's lowest attendence (excluding Charlotte), and you think it will get worse now that we've added one of the most popular players in the league?
    Possible.
Tough to answer that, considering the supposed expectations have not been defined. I expect that the Rockets will be anywhere between the 6th and 10th in the west. Next year will hopefully be their coming-out party.
Possible, but he'll likely have to average a double-double to unseat Yao, because even if his stats are better, he doesn't have the same impact on his team yet. It's Yao's award to lose.
Well, that's not outside of my expectations. Could happen.
This is very tough to predict, but these are my guesses:
    4-11, 7r, 2a, fouls out late in 4th on Jan 17.

youandMe (please leave the Me out of it), I'm curious. Have you been watching too many soap operas? Do you need conflict to be a fan? (The Blazers have some openings if that's the case.)

Please, the roster is solid. The chemistry is good. The fans are returning. It's going to be a grand new year, possibly with a championship under our collective belts. Peace.

I read somewhere that a sellout at the laptop is still below the NBA average attendance, so we don't have much of a shot at being REALLY GOOD in attendance for at least the rest of this year.

youAndMe - buy a vowel, or failing that, at least stop smoking so much weed...

    RIET -

It's amazing, but after our little tet-a-tet the other day, I have not seen a single word you posted that I have not been in complete agreement with...

BTW, it sounds like U have a pysch background, as do I.

If that's the case, I say we ship some anti-depressants (and maybe some lithium too) to youAndMe, so he can manage this little episode he's having.

    Happy 2003 Rox Nation!!

Just because some teams improve at one point in time doesn't mean it's improving OVERALL. Just like the Lakers ended the year with a 2 game win streak doesn't give me a lot of hope because those wins came from bottom feeders. We're not even at the All-Star break yet.

Including the Blazers in the list of "improvements" is crazy because no matter how much they improve they also implode right before the playoffs begins.

You get my drift? Making these BS posts is a waste of time. We're in a position to make the playoffs, and we still have a lot of time for Rudy to tinker with our teams problems.

Be patient and stay patient. Yao being a RoY candidate is a pleasant surprise by many. Many were realistic before the season started and now that he has flashes of greatness, we literally expect him to win it. And he still can. Amare could hit the wall like many others have, or Yao can pick it up. You can predict these as well as you can predict your stocks. Using your magical powers of 20/20 hindsight makes you no better in knowing the future as anyone else.
