Why was the Navas goal not offsides? It seemed like on the initial chip pass he was offsides and then again on that cross past the goalie.
It was VERY close. But here's what they called: 1. The original chip, after looking at it a couple times, shows him even with the last defender, when even, you are onsides. 2. He gets the ball and then passes it across the box. Navas was behind the ball when it was passed and you are ALWAYS allowed to pass to someone behind the ball (that's why its impossible to be offsides on a corner)
This was a penalty on Ćorluka. Spanish media also think that Mandžukić was also fouled by Sergio Ramos in the box, but I'm not so sure though.
I thought it was a foul. Yes, he got the ball...but it was also cleats up and there was definitely contact.
What are the guys on the end line doing? That should be a foul, I really wish Fifa would institute a replay on some of that stuff in the box, it is ruining the game. DD
im just saying we out played them in our game. they struggled vs croatia and were on the verge of just drawing. if it had ended 0-0, italy would of won group
Struggled against Croatia? Italy got a 1-1 draw against them. WTF? Let me guess, Italy outplayed Croatia too?
I agree with italiano to some extent. The Italians played better than the Spaniards against Croatia. Did you watch both matches? Italy should have closed that game at half-time by 2-3 goals. Spain, on the other hand, struggled against Croatia I thought. Nevertheless, Spain has superior players and I expect them to reach the final. What sometimes surprises me is the terrible coverage on ESPN. Their predictions and knowledge of teams are waaay off. Sometimes they're not completely sure about the players. For instance, with the Dutch team, I know a lot more of the specifics than the panel. Shouldn't the commentators spend hours and hours reading local newspapers and doing some research on the players?! It makes me not believe anything they say about the other teams. I'm happy Italy and Spain are through! Looking forward to watching the England matches. In other news, am going to do some research about my family history - - maybe we migrated from Germany a few hundred years ago and I might have a case for switching nationality. ;-)
