Reading is key! I don't like any of the PFs the Rockets are after. D-Mo is the guy for me at #4, maybe Scola as veteran back up or bring in a new rookie (Jones, Moultrie, Henson).
Did I propose it or suggest it was a more possible choice? BTW - - I'd like Gasol, but at what price (oh, yeah 19 mil)...
Asik is NOT a Center we should be targeting as a starter. Yes, he's a good role player, but if he's our starting Center, then we are in trouble...IMO.
Meh. Nothing better or worse than what clutchfans throws out there, aka random trade proposals. I haven’t heard any word the Bulls have interest in trading Noah. I guess we should start giving Hoopsworld and Bill Ingram their own threads too! Will do next time!
That's a good point. I mean, if we do pull the trigger on a Noah deal, would we still have enough to trade for Tyreke?
Lakers seem set on trading Gasol. I would say only Memphis wants him more than Houston. What about Gasol AND Asik?
Not a jab at you, just my way of saying, Don't know about that.... I like Gasol's skills, but goodness. The price tag.
sam smith gets his trade. he nailed the tmac trade.granted,it was after five straight seasons of proposing a tmac trade.
Yeah, yeah! If getting Gasol would attract a second very good skill set then I'd be on board (kind of like Nene + Chuck??? - - which didn't work out so well there and there either, but still...).
Noah and Asik are both young defensive anchoring centers. If either of them can be brought onto this roster, its a great move. Considering the center position is quite literally the only of the five that we do not have a long term solution, it seems this should be the top priority.
I understand Herrera has a hard on for Asik?? Can anyone who has watched a lot of him playing describe his strengths and weaknesses? In the limited action I've seen, I haven't been too impressed. Solid rebounder, defender and relatively efficient player... perhaps.. But there's got to be a reason why he's inched along at 12-14 mpg? Not that PER is everything, and is offensively biased, but it's not that impressive. 6-8 million for a guy getting 15 mpg, a PER under league average, who performed worse in the playoffs, when finally getting some minutes, going against Spencer Hawes??
I agree i am not as high on asik as some of the other members. When i watch him play i don't see anything special. I dont see a guy with high upside. I would admit he is an upgrade over anything we have but he is over rated on this board.
This has been speculated for quite some time. The Bulls want Lee. The Rockets want Asik, but Chi doesn't want to let him go.
