Neither of them is relevant if you have to regularly depend upon them to be better than the 3rd option on a WC Finals caliber team.

IOW, if you don't already have a Top 5 C/PF and a Top 5 PG...the difference is neglible. (And yes...I do know Martin costs more...thatll also get you more in a trade as an expiring).

Neither. KMart is a whiny baby that usually disappears when the game’s on the line and Lee and his career 12 PER is nothing to write home about. Really hoping one of Lamb/Rivers/Waiters is there at 14 to groom into our shooting guard of the future. I would like someone that can create off the dribble, get to the FT line consistently, and not shy away from the big moments.

I choose the most undervalued player in ClutchFans history. Kevin Martin and Courtney Lee are simply not in the same "class." Come on people, Kmart had a bad year thanks to the "Asset Mister" and injuries. He is one of the few people in the league that can drop "forty" on any give night. Reggie Miller like elite scorers don't grow on trees.

Both are good players and can be a part of a championship team at the SG position.

Martin excels under the motion system where he can best utilize his skill set, which at its best, is a devastating weapon both in scoring points and getting the other team in foul trouble. Practically unguardable using the right setup.

The attitude issue and defensive ways are way overblown in my opinion. People just end up believing what they want to beleive, instead of watching what is actually happening.

Lee is an exceptional all around player, but will be less valuable with his new contract, rather than his old one. Great in transition, shooting, effort, hustle. I think the effort is there on defense, but his size hurts him at times. His greatest asset atm however is he is freinds with Dwight Howard and if we trade for him, having a friend around is one more reason to convince Howard to stick around.

I like them both and thank god we have BOTH

this. you have to run a system that doesn't require him handling the ball. the ideal example is Ray Allen, but a more fair comparison I say watch Rip Hamilton and how he moves without the ball (especially when he was on the Pistons), coming off a lot of screens and curling to the basket.

I like Lee, don't get me wrong but if he is the starting 2 guard then we are in trouble...Martin is a game changer when he is on...yeah Martin struggled this season but was still the top scorer, last year the guy put up 23.5 on 13 shot attempts...I like lee but he will want to be a starter, I am not sure he is the best option IMO..
We got 1yr and Martins contract is over...too much options with that..if he plays good we can resign him for a good price, if he doesn't we got his contract coming off the books to pick someone up...we could still sign lee and trade him or 6th man him this upcoming season and if Martin doesn't pan out let him take over after martin contract is over..I just wouldn't trade Martin now for the little we could get for him when he has more worth and also is going to be an expiring contract.

Lee also has ball handles, something a guard is supposed to posses.

So - a question. Would Martin's game benefit a lot if the Rockets were capable of running a good low post offense?

Kmart doesn't seem to like playing here anymore. Might as well ship him out and get something of value in return.

Am I hallucinating or are you talking about the guy who put up 32, 25, 31, 29, 29, and 29 points in the six games he had played before the re-injury of the shoulder? Man get a grip.

I agree. Lee is still a backup SG. He's too inconsistent to be a starter and his baskeball IQ is suspect at times.

    Mostly this.

The fanbase has completely made up an alternate reality of what happened to Martin this year.

Seriously, you guys way under Martin. Alot of other NBA team fan's would be drooling over a chance to get a guy like K-Mart. His defense is improving and how do you guys know about his attitude? Don't act like you know him and can read his mind, he has never said anything close to outrageous to the media and doesn't act like a diva on the court.

I voted for C.Lee. He is better value at this point. Martin is good but what we really need is to get an Allstar player.

I have no clue as to what the average poster on CF is thinking. Or not. They seem to focus on parroting the loudest most polarizing fear mongering negative posters. Most would not know a fact if it hit them in the face. And I used to wonder how the heck fascism gained such predominance at times in history. We have to look no further.
