Swopa --

Lol -- throw in Hughes and a pick and we'll call it even.

Fellow Rockets Dreamcasters --

It sure was fun imagining Jamison in pinstripes for a day/week/season/whatever...but I think its time we put this hyperactive child to bed.

You guys are really full of it talking about this trade. Why in the hell would the Warriors trade Jamison. He is the one guy who has actually said he WANTS TO BE HERE. This organization has enough trouble getting players... WHY IN THE HELL WOULD THEY TRADE ONE WHO LIKES IT THERE. You guys need to slow your role on the rockets...you couldn't even make the playoffs and suddenly your scrubs would suddenly be valuable to us? Don't get me wrong, Francis and Mobley are the sh#t and Taylor is a good pickup but other than that no one on your team is desirable. The point here is it might be a good idea to look at both sides of a trade before considering something as ridiculous as this is. Just because some "anonymous respected source" says something, does that make it accurate?... of course not. In general I enjoy reading your board (you have by far the best fan's website) but you guys are way off base on this one.

If nothing else, this trade has unearthed a legion of Warriors faithful I never knew existed.

It wasn't all for naught, I guess...

LarryHughes, we couldn't make the playoffs ? When was the last time your team won a championship ? Made the playoffs ? Had a winning season ? Signed a big FA (danny fortson doesn't count).

Hello to all rockets fan on this planet.
I just came back to town,and see this huge thread.
The news does not surprise me at all,cause I know there have been some talks,but I don't want to talk about it now.
Why I am writing this message is,seeing Goldenstate fan being brave enough to come to our land and talk playoffs and such.

What did you all think when you decided to become a Goldenstate fan?
Was it right after you watched The braveheart?
I know this must be the high point of your season,to come and experience some excitment,cause you know deep inside you won't get many chances when the season starts.
Here atleast you get to talk to some real winners,and as good people we let you do that.
Let me tell you something,Gary st.gean Sh***
all over the Kings and then moved to Goldenstate,cause there was nomore sh**ing room left in sac town.Do you get it?
I guess you know now who is waiting in line to get fired.Maybe not now but it will come,trust me on that or your team will never win 35 games.
If teams could win championships with talent on paper,then Grizz,Golden boys,and some other sh**y teams would be lining up in the conerence finals.
You golden boys,it takes more,system,coaching,heart,desire...........
I know I have to explain you some of these words,but I am sure if needed,my rockets brothers will do that.

1) It won't hurt my feelings a fraction when this post dies (hopefully soon).

2) IMHO most Rockets fans were *not* sitting around drooling about obtaining Jamison. Most (admittedly not all) Rocks fans were using their creativity and imagination to envision what possible scenario(s) would allow this to happen. It is clearly a sign of intelligence to want to scratch beyond the surface and see what lies at the core (injury?, discomfort with changes?, change of heart by management or player?, cap restictions?). Thinking out of the box is healthy.

3) If the Warriors management changed its mind about who was "the Franchise", would this be without precedent in professional sports? Something intuitively tells me "no".

4) I will watch with great interest how Hughes and Jamison share the ball.

5) To say that other than Francis, Mobley, and Taylor everyone else on the Rocks is undesirable is pure S!@#. I'm not even going to justify this insanity with a comment. I *will* file it into the memory banks for some real fun during the season.

Any of you guys remember when the Vancouver fans came over and busted our chops when we knew about the Francis trade in advance?
<ol>
Silly, silly us ...
Remember when the Utah fans taunted us about believing that Shandon Anderson would only sign for our exception, and we didn't have an ice cubes chance in hell of taking him away from Utah?
<ol>
We were so stupid to believe, weren't we?
Remember when someone knew that Mobely was going to sign with us, and the mess we had to go through just so noone would get in trouble for us knowing?
<ol>
but he did... (even if someone had to change his username over that whole mess)
Remember the Chicago guys coming to our board taunting us, laughing at our chance of landing MoTaylor, when he'd turned down Toronto's money?
<ol>
We just never learn, do we?
I have to admit that I get a kick every time these guys come over here and scoff at us, and then players come here, and afterwards we never hear from those scoffers again.

I really like being a Rocket fan...

I know that things are talked about and "rarely happen".

But it's going to be pretty damn funny if this actually occurs.

Also do you all remember when Clipper fans laughed at us when we found out Lamar Odom is dying to come here. Then held the Clipper management hostage till they agreed to trade him to us.

But I guess (and thank God for this) there are no Clipps fans in this world. Forget Jamison, I say we try to get Lamar. I mean what the Hell is Baylor thinking anyways? Its not like he needs a good team to attract Clipper fans; cause there arent money. Just make it easy on yourself and trade us Lamar for cash. Donald would be proud of that move.

Jamison averaged almost 20 and 10. Did Williams and Cato even come close to that combined. Amazing how everyone is a history major. Again, all who were responsible for those bad deals are gone. As for the Shandon Anderson, Steve Francis stuff, one slight difference - Jamison doesn't want to leave and the Warriors don't have to deal him.

I'm not going to waste my time with a Warriors vs. Rockets debate - I'll let that get settled on the court. But for those talking smack, welcome to the year 2000. The Warriors past mistakes and Rockets past glory is just that - the past. Let's see what happens in the present.

D,

Jamison won't score 20 ppg with Hughes, and only pulled down 8.3 boards

Walt and los got 19 ppg and 9 rpg. They only played 9 minutes more than Jamison per game. Los put up 13 ppg and 7.5 rpg when starting.

The big part of the rockets trade is the draft pick(s) and I think the rockets will receive more salary in the end if the trade happens.

I think the only reason GS may be interersted is economics.

I think there's a misconception that Hughes will be putting up the same number of shots next year so Jamison will score less. Not so. Hughes put up that many shots because the starting lineup featured such CBA standouts as Tony Farmer and Mark Davis. Hughes will shoot less and make more. He and Jamison will be running a lot of pick and rolls - opening scoring opportunities for both. No one is more excited about Hughes than Antawn.
From what I've seen, the only pick you guys got of value is Detroit's. The rest will not garner a player as good as Jamison - even if you combine them.
Economics isn't a consideration.
As I said before, I have heard from sources inside GS that a Dampier/Cato swap was discussed and it would have made sense for the Rockets to inquire about Jamison, but nothing was gained from it.
