James Harden at end of 1st Q: Tries to fool ref by kicking out leg. Ref doesn't get fooled, no foul, and defensive player should never be called for a foul there.

Nick Collison block in 4th Q against Wade: It was a block-charge. A difficult play.

About flopping & Stern saying they'll look at it: As we go forward, the league will come up with a rule, whether it be a point system or something else...They'll take care of it. They don't want it in the game.

Blah. I was hoping for more. If ABC wants this to be worth a dime, they need to bring him in during quarter breaks and maybe halftime.

outside of the call on Chalmers on the Thabo missed dunk and the Block call on Collison I thought the game tonight was actually pretty decently officiated, didnt really see anything that was blatant for one team over the other.

this game was the best game for officiating in the entire NBA postseason I've seen. Surprisingly good reffing with very few missed calls and the ones missed you could see how they could have messed up. I would have given this crew an A+ for the game.

Just saw a segment of this on espn.

Basically, they were saying that guys like Yao and Shaq didn't get calls simply because they were strong enough to finish and bumps didn't affect them as much. JVG said that Yao had to take a lot of contact down low but didn't get to the line because it didn't move him. Javie said that if the contact doesn't affect a guy, it is not going to be called.
Javie said that lebron won't get as many calls because he is strong and can play through the contact. If he gets some contact that doesn't affect the shot, he won't get the benifit of the doubt. ON the other hand, if a smaller guy receives the same amount of contact and it affects his shot, he will get the call.

Javie says that calls are based on rhythm, speed, quickness, balance. If the defender affects any of this, there is a foul. Because stronger players aren't affected as easily, they get less calls.

And that's why all teams now use the flop to get the call.
