    Shouldn't have come to that, though. if this ref knew anything about advantage, he'd have let the play go on a minute earlier instead of calling the foul at the 18 of Guatemala. Altidore was through.

    Between this match and the Euro Championship generally, I've concluded that soccer has worse reffing than the NBA...

    This is ridiculous.

    WTF is with all the shots 20 yards over the top of the goal? And Jozy Altidore looks lazy, he never continues his run...Bradley left a perfect pass to him to tap in and he stopped running....you see why he is not starting any longer.

    He could have but if Altidore runs he is tapping the danged thing in....

    And to not allow the advantage on Dempsey's flick to Altidore, horrible reffering.

    Give the US a latin ref against a Latin country = not gonna like the calls.

    That ref also allowed Guatemala to abuse dempsey and get away with it...

    Donovan had a couple 1v1 chances but instead chose to pass the ball to what ended up being no one multiple times. And what was up with Jones taking that free kick instead of Donovan or Dempsey? I'm all for misdirection, but come on.

    Well, s***. Should have had 3 points. Can't blame the refs for the bad free kicks, many shots way over the bar, lack of shots when they were there to be taken, and bad passing.

    Can blame the ref for blowing a clear advantage just a minute before the tying goal was scored. It was almost as if he saw the ball squeak through to Jozy and made the call just then.

    In either case, Jermaine Jones should have been pulled earlier for Torres. He was not good. With as well as Dempsey was playing, why was he constantly skipped? Give him the damn ball and let him run at the defense. It's what he does best.

    Should have been a win.

    I agree with all of that, and hopefully Jurgen is not happy, we can not continue to draw with teams that we are clearly better than, we need to start punishing every single team in our region with the exception of Mexico which we go back and forth with as to whom is better.

    The USA should be beating everyone.....

    BTW - I think Donovan and Bradley are a little too unselfish, I wish they had a touch more selfishness in their games.

    What's up with Charlie Davies? Is he still 'black'balled from US Soccer?

    This should have been a 3 points on the road. If this was Jamaica, I guess I could live with a tie on the road, but not Guatemala.

    That is a great question, we really need his speed and finishing ability, he stretches the opponents out - that is what is lacking up front for the USA, speed.

    No, El Salvador was better than Mexico for the most part. Mexico played into SLV's hands. :eek: Mexico sucked but ran away with the win. SLV will win the second spot in this group to be in the last hexagonal. Costa Rica will lose at SLV.
