Lots of reading? Interesting plot?

Pick up Planescape: Torment. It's an RPG that has an INCREDIBLE story and a lot of reading in it. One of the top 5 games I've ever played. It's an older game, but you can find it on those racks where they just sell the game without the box, just in the CD case. They've got it just about everywhere -- it comes packaged with another game . . . I forget what the other one is though.

A more recent game that's pretty "thought-provoking" and I'm enjoying a lot is Syberia. It's an adventure game set in France. Very interesting story. I suck at Adventure games, so I'm making HEAVY use of a walk-through, but it's still a tremendous amount of fun. Very heavily acclaimed, as was Planescape: Torment.

If you haven't played it already, check out Deus Ex. It's a first-person shooter with adventure and RPG aspects.

I built my new PC a few weeks ago (ASUS P4PE mobo, P4 2.4 GHz CPU, 512MB Corsair XMS DDR-RAM, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, 80 GB Western Digital hard drive w/ 8 MB cache, etc.) and decided to pick up a few PC games including Morrowind and Deus Ex. Now I haven't played Deus Ex a whole lot yet, but so far I quite like it....plus it's gotten a ton of praise from a lot of sites and players.

Deus Ex is AWESOME!!! A truly fabulous game with an excellent story, great action, and compelling characters. I didn't mention it b/c I wasn't sure if Nomar was into first-person games. If you are, it's a MUST get.

Another great game that you'll love if you liked Deus Ex is System Shock 2. System Shock 1 was awesome, but it's almost impossible to find, and WAY outdated in its graphics and controls. System Shock 2 is the scariest game I've ever played, bar none. It's so immersive and so compelling, it'll scare you $#!+less!! The story is fantastic too.

    Sports games:

    FIFA 2003 w/ online play.

NBA Live 2003, although you have to pay for online play after a 60-day grace period, which is why I didn't buy it.
