Loved the closing montage. The visuals of this show are impeccable. Clsoing song: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hD_dBXj1Wso" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Also: Rory Gilmore sideboob. Truly, this is the best drama now on television. All things to all people.
Agree but its a bit more subtle - Megan was previously this effortless poised Superwoman who fascinated Don because she was hawt, a good stepmom, good copywriter ..,confident etc. Then she became a whiny bathrobe wearing depressed loser begging don te make her dreams come true for her rather than working hard. Contrast that with Peggy the striver like Don. Now megans just another wannabe model actress that he knows from work (as Betty oncewas)
Upon watching the last scene where Don walks away, I'm pretty convinced this place was filmed at a downtown hotspot in LA. It's called the Association in case any you are here. Great spot!
Just to clarify - not the set where he walks away from Megan but into the bar where he walks into and orders the old fashioned.
Anyone watch the 2 hour premiere? Thoughts? I missed the last 6 mins or so I could watch Game of Thrones but read about the reveal at the end.
I thought it was excellent but there is a very dour undercurrent to all the symbolism and theme in general.
Terrific episode, if a bit more bizarre than usual. I loved the beginning at Waikiki. They did a fantastic job recreating the scene in the mid-'60's. I stayed at a hotel on the beach in 1965, and it was just like that. What a trip. And Don's wife, man, what a babe. Wow. I want more!
Don's story line is more eerie than I would have expected, and Betty's bedroom dialogue was pretty shocking for that character. I felt that Peggy's POV was a little forced but I loved Roger's pseudo vulnerability. As an aside I hope that the writers aren't as self indulgent as the writers on the two finales I saw last night. House of Lies and Californication spoilers: Spoiler Don Cheadle and David Duchovny blowing off Kristen Bell and Maggie Grace was a stretch for me, especially back to back.
Anybody still watching? Some episodes this season were downright dark. Am I the only that is seeing very little character development (save Don, maybe?)
I just started watching on Netflix. 10 episodes in or so on Season 1. My friend blew past me already on season 6, but he's a college kid, he has a lot more free time than I do (seeing as he's not on clutchfans to take away his madmen time)
Yep, I've really enjoyed this season so far. Didn't see the twist coming, just as taken aback as Peggy was at the end. Love Megan's mother whenever she pops up. Let's not forget this gem...
"The biggest blackest prostitute you have ever seen." Pete has been the best thing about this season.
