i'm going, and hope rockets could win that game, that's gonna make my day.

i also bought a t-shirt from yao fans' club, they said that i could stay after the game and get downstairs to take picx with yao with that t-shirt, is any one know if that's true or not??

The plan right now is for the Yao Ming Fan Club to assemble in the stands in one of the end zones immediately following the game. Yao will come out there after Rudy's talk, pose in front of the group for a few shots, and then he's done.

So ... yes, there will be a group shot with Yao. It's a perk the Fan Club is getting because they bought so many tickets. But it's good to set expectations right ... it's going to be a few quick shots of Yao in front of a group, and there won't be any time for individual shots of Yao.

That said -- it should be a great night. Free t-shirts for the first 5,000, noisemakers, and a post-game New Years' concert and countdown. Tickets have really started moving over the last few days, and we're looking at a goodsized, loud crowd. We're breaking new ground by trying something like this, and, hopefully, it can be the start of an annual tradition for the Rockets and their fans.

Hey Tim, any word on what the T-shirts are going to look like? I just bought 7 tickets and I'm sure I'll see it soon enough, but I sure am excited.

Hope I see the 1st and 4th quarter Rockets of the Hornets game.

I would have gone but I have no desire to see Lil' Romeo. The last New Years Eve concert I saw in Compaq was Prince.

Lil' Romeo has no appeal to me. I'd much rather see Lil' Richard.

    No thanks.

Uh, yeah, Lil' Romeo does not exactly match up with the ticket buying demographic (that being adults). You'd even be better off getting a washed-up, rehashed, oldie group like Party on the Plaza does.

They should have brought in that fat ass KC and his Sunshine Band! I woulda paid to see that!

You are right...I can't imagine a lot of the normal Rockets crowd to hang to see Lil' Romeo.

btw: I have two excellent tickets available. I can't go because heyschweetie has us hosting a party. So email me ASAP if you want them. I already gave two to another cc.netter, so it will be a good cc.net little foursome.

1st row, center, upper bowl...with cc.netters sitting around you....how can you not email me. If you email me, include your phone number!!!

disclaimer: I make no profit on these. This is just to make sure the tickets are used. Last day is $20 each (regular price is $46). You will enjoy it, and like Tim said...free T-shirts.

Although we are seeing a lot more families and kids at the games this season, you make a good point, freak -- except for one other point. Under NBA guidelines, alcohol sales stop after the 3rd quarter, and because we don't operate the building (we're just a tenant), there's really no way for us to work around that, even if we wanted to. It would be hard for us to compete with New Year's event organized for adults under those circumstances.

At the same time, we've noticed a lack of options for parents who want to go out and do something together with the kids on New Year's Eve. It just felt like a natural fit for us.

For those who aren't big Lil' Romeo fans -- come on out, get a t-shirt, grab a noise maker, and have some fun. It should be a great game regardless. For those who want to stay -- the post-game should be a fun bonus. You can't lose.

    Tim
