I just went to Diagnostic Eye Center to get LASIK a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I believe their eye exams are $135 (before insurance), but I'm not 100% sure since everything I got was included in the fee for surgery.

Probably would kinda help if we knew the location of the city you're in. I go to Eye Impact off of Washington. Pretty new place, fantastic service.

I'm on the southwest side close to sugar land. I guess I should've asked what a good price for the combo exam would even be?

    asian?

i use to go there haha. yeah they use to be/are? dirt cheap but their equipment was so old and I wanted something more modern...but maybe my cheapness will send me back:grin:

They have a flat fee of $4,400 and financing is available, or you can do what I did and wait for a $100 Groupon that cuts $1,600 off the price. The catch is that with the Groupon there is no financing and you have to pay in full before surgery.

I went with the Groupon, so in total it was $2,900. This included consultation, surgery, 24 hour post-op exam, 1 week post-op exam, and 6 week post-op exam. You're also covered for any corrections needed within 2 years of surgery.

I should also mention that I did not have to schedule my surgery many weeks or months in advance like some places. I actually went on a Thursday for my consultation and they offered me a slot the very next day (all their surgeries are on Fridays). I declined, but was able to get in just a week later.
