and this is the worst Cowboys team I've ever seen, bar none. Can't move the ball a yard, much less 10. Can't execute a single good block. Emmitt's lucky if he can get back to the line. He needed 38 yards to get to 1,000. There's no chance he'll make it.

They don't need a new coach. They need to be relegated to a less professional league.

    Were  .

Cowboys offensive line has to be the worst in the history of football. Yes, that's how far I'm going. They miss blocks every other play and get plowed over every time. No wonder our quarterback cannot function. Horrible.

I've seen talent this bad, but I've never seen so little talent combined with so little effort.

This will go down in history as the offensive line that held Emmitt Smith to 17 yards on 17 carries.

Until Jerry Jones gets himself a real GM (i.e. not himself), the Cowboys will always struggle, IMO.

Well, it looks like Campo is out and Parcells is in.

Redskins break 10 game losing streak to Cowboys....20-14 . Emmitt had a terrible possible final game with 13 yards on 18 carries. He had needed 38 yards rushing to break 1,000 yards for the season and fell short 25 yards.

I thought this game was a joke. Antonio Bryant had a good game but his post-play reactions were over the top. The only real offensive play of the game by the Cowboys was the long TD pass to Antonio Bryant...the one play where the offensive line held together and gave Hutchinson time to pass.

Three 5-11 seasons in a row for the Cowboys. But, by far, this was the worst. Hopefully, Parcells can help us.

They do have some injuries, but I will agree they are just awful. Today I decided not to go watch the game. It's the first Cowboys game I have missed in 10 years, and hopefully that will send some kind of statement to ya'll about how bad it really is.

    Drew's equation for Cowboy's success.

Cowboys - Dave Campo + someone who will not be Jerry Jones' pawn - Bruce Coslett + someone who will not be Jerry Jones' pawn + A good Draft - 10 million in salary (I’m sorry emmitt, I love ya man :( ) + A good quarterback = Acceptable Cowboys.

    or

Cowboys - Jerry Jones = Acceptable Cowboys.............. Hey, a guy can dream, right?

Any chnage will be a good change.

I may be in the minority, but I think with a decent offensive line Emmitt can still play fairly well. However I think for the second half of the season they way they have used him they want him to leave and go to another team by his own free will.

I cant remember seeing a team with an offense that just produces nothing. The defence is fairly good, but there is nothing at all on offence.

I think getting Parcells would be a good move. It atleast gets someone in there that knows what it takes to win. You also know he wont coach the team unless he gets a big say in the the team signs and drafts....that can only be good. No more second rate losers, morons who no longer play, only scrambling quaterbacks, no good young guys who are tagged as great for no reason.....oh yeah.....lets dump the baseball player....PLEASE!

On the flip side....you know anyone still following this team is a true Cowboys fan. I still wear my Cowboys jersey with number 22 on it with pride. Its great during the Aussie summer....keeps me cool.

Well, at least Dallas finished with a better record than Houston. :p

I'd probably still have to go with 1989 as the worst Cowboys season of all time...

puhleeeeze. There's only one regular season record that matters between the AFC expansion team and the NFC bottom dweller. That record is 1-0 in favor of Houston. Come back in four years.....maybe you'll have a team by then.

Uh oh...I hope that statement didn't come off as sounding like I'm a Cowboys fan. That was kind of a backhanded compliment to the Cowboys to make it seem like they actually accomplished something this year. I've only rooted for the Cowboys two times in my life, the two Superbowls they played against Buffalo, only because I hated Buffalo for beating the Oilers in the playoffs.

Actually, I hope the Cowboys do manage to start winning again. Hating the Cowboys isn't as fun as it used to be now that they suck. A Cowboys playoff loss or a late season loss to knock them out of playoff contention is more satisfying than a 5-11 season.

According to all the reports that have been comming out Jerry Jones has agreed to give Parcells complete control over all things coaching, and will give Parcells a lot of control over who is drafted and brought in during free agency. I think Jerry has finally realized that what he was doing was not working. He knows that he was only going to lose money if the Cowboys continued at their current pace. Jerry will still officially hold the title of GM but Parcells will be making all the football decisions. I also agree with you, this can only be good new for Cowboys fans.

No doubt, I still wear my Cowboys hat every day. It's going to be an absolute joy once Parcells takes Dallas back to the Super Bowl.

I didn't get to watch the game, but I listened on radio. (was headed for Houston to attend the game.) I kept hearing, "He drops back...sacked....FUMBLE!" Got me real sick. Also didn't like hearing, "Emmitt on the draw...loss of 2 yards." Sounded pretty bad, but after all season long, I've gotten used to it.

As for Parcells, I think he would be a real good thing for the team. I just hope the team can get it together. I need something to watch when the Rockets don't play. :D

Also, why is everyone acting like Emmitt Smith is some old geezer walking around on a cane? Dude is 33, which isn't exactly his "prime", but if you put him on a team with a decent O-Line, he has at least 2 seasons of 1300 yards left in him and a possible shot a fourth ring. He's also one of the best red zone running backs in the past 25 years. Put him on the 49ers with Garrison Hearst, and they're almost unstoppable. He'd also be a good fit with Tampa Bay
