It was bold, and also stupid.

Gasol = Yes, overpaying Nene and losing Dragic = disasterous.

I kind of agree...D mo is our 4 of the future we need to at least believe that enough to plan that way.

As much as I want robinson...I believe he is the clear 2nd best player in this draft and would not be shocked if he ends up having the best career of them all... I think we trade where we have to get drummond... prob be 5 or 6.

    If the draft goes...

    1. Davis
    2. Robinson
    3. MKG
    4. Barnes
    5.

and we have have the ability to trade here and take drummond or beal...I would hate to be the one that made that decision.

We need the center most....but the smart thing would be to draft beal...because he will prob be the 3rd best player in this draft...and then do what it takes to get myers leonard.

If we could find a way to get the #2 without giving up Lowry.

Also getting the #5 or #6 for Lowry. All of a sudden, we'd have the 2 biggest pieces to get Dwight over to Houston.

honestly the way I see the draft we dont need to trade for the no 2...it will cost too much....and we can get the same plaer we would draft with 2 with no 5

This. Drummond is freaking overrated on this board.

Did any of you guys happen to watch ANY of his games, and not just his highlight reel?

He couldn't get his team out of the 1st round of the NCAA tournament with another potential lotto pick in Jeremy Lamb vs an Iowa St team that I doubt has any 1st rounders, how good can the guy be?

If we manage to get the #2 pick, we should be turning that into Dwight because with Dwight will come Deron. That would set this Rockets team up for win now.

Trade bait. I'm not enamored with this draft class as a whole.

I think you'll get A LOT of VERY good complementary pieces after Davis (who I think will be a superstar).

MKG, Beal, Robinson, etc., but we need a star 1st before we get more complementary pieces.

I do not really like this draft class but other GMs seem to. Grabbing a hold of top guys other GMs covet is a solid move for Morey if he wants to play the assets game.

I like this draft but it sucks that all the players that are going to be great are redundant on our team... there is no cousins in the draft...there is no elite wing player on O and D.... best player for us is Beal... and if he falls to 5... I bet you morey goes after him.

I would love MKG because he is battier with better offensive upside. But we already have parsons and to a lesser extent morris.

I think you're missing the fact that potential is one reason players are picked. It's not fair to evaluate a player purely, or even mostly, on whether or not he carried his team in college. It certainly helps, but it doesn't always predict the future. There's no clear cut Melo or Lebron in this draft, so many will be picked based on what they can grow into.

I picked up Drummond in person in one game. And watched him on TV half a dozen times. I did not see a game where he was not the best physical talent on the court. But I also saw some games where he showed low maturity and BBIQ. So here is a 5 prospect that has Howard's physical skills and a really deep basement. He has attitude, work ethic, and immaturity issues. NBA front offices are going to have their work cut out for them.

However Howard at this point in his career is showing attitude and immaturity issues also. With Drummond costing one third of Howard, and being locked up for 4 years instead of just one, I would be inclined to roll the dice with Drummond. His upside is Howard, and he would have 4 years to work on his game and other issues. Howard's upside is Howard, and has a high probability to be a one and done.

I would be so pissed if the Rockets traded up to number 2 and took Drummond. Hell, I will be pissed if they trade Lowry to get anywhere in the top 10 and take Drummond. He looks like he will be bust to me. I would much rather stay at 14 and 16 and take a chance on another center because in my opinion they would have the same chance at being a solid center as Drummond does. Drummond looks very unimpressive to me.

Lmao @ people actually wanting Drummond on the Rockets. I admit he fooled me with his highschool youtube footage, but he had a less than stellar career at UCONN.

Dude Lin played like 2months and MESSED UP his what ACL....serious stuff right there.
It was funny when they were trying to tell their fans oh "he might play in GM 5"-like um "we were bad with Yao's feet??"-that would have been the worst career dissision had it been done I've ever seen

On second thought, I would trade for the second pick and draft Bradley Beal. I think he will be the second best player out of this draft class.

The deal itself would probably involve getting a third team involved, like Portland, but I think its do able.
