Anyone going to purchase one? I poked around on autotrader and found a dealership that's selling them for invoice. For the heck of it, I called and asked the internet sales manager if they had a silver limited in manual for invoice and they're getting one later this month ! !! !

I was planning on waiting to purchase one four to five months after the initial demand died down so I can purchase it at invoice...but since they have the model/color I want now, I'm going to put a deposit down and pick this one up.

I haven't been this excited about a $25kish sports car since my previous one (2001 integra type r). For $27k, it'll have 200 hp, rwd, leather seats, heated seat/mirrows, hid, fog lights, spoiler, navigation and keyless access/push button start. Pretty good deal imo, when you factor in the depreciation of the dollar over ten years ago.

I think he may very well be... according to Motor Trend, the Mazda is 5.6 secs on 0-60, with 263 hp and 280 torque. The BRZ is 6.4, 200, and 151 respectively. Not that I would choose a car based on numbers like this, and I suspect you can move numbers either way...

Completely understand the benefits of rear-wheel drive (the reason I chose my G35 over other possibilities like Acura). But the Mazda does have more power for the same price (which was the comment in question, no?). Note I also said the numbers wouldn't be the only reason to choose one car over another.

But in fairness, both cars tested identically on MT's figure 8 test. And I suspect most people won't be pushing either car hard enough to realistically have much problem with torque steer.

If I was looking at one of these car/karts I would look at the BRZ, the Mazdaspeed, the GTi, and the Civic si (I'd draw the line at the Hyundai). All would be fun cars for around town. I like the looks of the BRZ since it looks most like a sports car, but the other cars seem a bit more practical.

Why draw the line at the Gen Coupe? that thing is a beast, 350hp with a n/a v6... that's amazing performance, but then again, it pushes into the low 30 range, with that money, I'd take a 5.0
