just read from other bbs... after tonight/s game... yao is no longer ranking 1st on the field goal % in the league... shaq took over with 57% <yao has 56%>... even though stats isn/t the biggest thing... just hope yao will find a way to deal with other teams' more physical defense... also recently he and rox didn/t play well for some reasons... just hope rudy t will find a solution to overcome this... GO ROX :)

The next step for Yao is to learn how to use his ELBOW. Teams are physical to him because they can not defend him without being physical. I think it is the reason that Yao's field goal percentage is down.

Yao has to get a seperation between him and the defender to have a decent jump shot. Right now, people are all over him, bump him, elbow him, stuffs like this. Yao can not play as a gentleman. He needs to use his elbow, bump his defender to get a seperation before shooting the ball. Just hope he can watch how Malone did it.

The next step for YM is to learn how to rebound again.

Sure, people are elbowing him outside the position. He needs to learn how to elbow back. Like what Malone did, after you get the rebound, what did you do? throw your elbow around!

    1. Better spacing on the team offense
    2. Better timing the guards pass him the ball
    3. His improvement on transition offense

People respect Karl's elbow because he is a weight lifting and fitness freak and can hospitalize you with it. Ming's upper body doesn't have the equivalent heft.

Bradley is even famous for throwing his elbow around, and he is getting tons of rebounds.

OK. Have you been noticing that the referees call Yao ALL THE TIME?!?!?!?!? He can't do anything cuz he's so tall. Even one little bump and he's called for a foul. Jebus!!! And on offense....I don't know why he's missing so much these days. He hasn't made any jumpers lately. But on defense, they are usually attacking him. And he has to go out and contest the person who is shooting. Then someone else has to rebound. Posey has been getting most of the rebounds now. Yao should be able to be #1 again. It doesn't really matter though. :)

Remember, we are talking about a rookie here....vs a 10+ year vet.

Besides, wait until next year when Yao gets weight training.

Funny... most people would say that Yao has been getting the benefit of a ton of calls early in the season - calls that no other rookie would get. Now teams are playing him physically and taking him out of his comfort zone. Yao and the Rockets have to adjust.

Why would Mo Taylor be defending him then? He must be getting assaulted. But he is just a rookie. And he will learn to adjust and become dominant in ten years like Shaq.

I never said he wasn't getting mugged, but that's NBA basketball. To be in the paint, you have to be a man. Yao will get there. Early in the season Yao was getting the benefit of the doubt on many calls. He even got the benefit on 2 or 3 calls last night. It goes both ways. If he ever bulks up and improves his explosiveness, he'll be able to hang down low.
