I'll just address the factual misunderstandings on macroeconomics and the banking system. Everything else I have to offer is purely opinion, and there's enough of those flying around in this thread already.

QE may have had questionable efficacy, but why are you ignoring the fact that there's a difference between money and reserves? The Fed can only create reserves, and doing so is not inherently inflationary. Despite tripling the monetary base, you won't find a single inflation measure showing a higher inflation rate today compared to ten years ago. Not even ShadowStats' formula shows this, and those guys have been screaming about hyperinflation for years.

The discount window is no secret. It's been around for as long as the Fed's been in existence, and anyone can "find out" about it by making the slightest amount of effort. It's even on the Fed's own website: http://www.newyorkfed.org/banking/discountwindow.html

It's a part of our banking system. If you don't like it, then great...but just because the information isn't spoon-fed to you doesn't mean there was an attempt to keep it a secret.
