Francis is a super slasher, great jump shooter but an average passer and a so-so organizer. To me he's a natual SG. And I heard he played SG in college. Why made Rockets play him as PG at the beginning?
I'd like to trade Mobley for a Sam Cassell, Eric Snow like guy. They know how to play with a great point guard (Francis as SG). What do you guys think?

Play Tito -- dump Moochie. Tito (6-4' who plays tough defense and passes first) would allow Steve to play the 2.

Think E. Snow and A. Iverson.

Is Francis really tall enough to defend the taller shooting guards?
Point guards are usually shorter, great ball handlers, and good play makers. I'd say that Steve has 2 of 3 down good so far.

Like in Pilly, Iverson takes care of offense and Snow guards the opponent scorer, no matter he's PG or SG.

I agree. Steve is way too short to guard people like Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant. Many shooting guards are too tall. Cuttino is pretty short too, but he is a "tenacious" defender.

Who knows if Tito Maddox is even good? I like him because he's on the Rockets but he makes turnovers. Even Michael Jordan makes turnovers! Kobe made a lot of turnovers. Sam Cassell is pretty old now. But doesn't he own a clothing line with Steve Francis? That would be good. Maybe we could get Nick Van Exel. ANYWAYS. Steve is already playing a little bit at the 2 when Moochie plays. The Cat is not leaving!

Francis at the shooting guard is what we call the three guard offense, and everybody whines about it.

I would rather run francis at the center
    Cat at the power forward
Posey can stay at the three

now bear with me, cause this is where it gets tricky

cato could play the shooting guard. He has a silky smooth touch and the lateral movement of an 80 year old woman

yao ming could play the point guard. He has already proven that if he touches the ball enough, he could almost turn it over as much as steve, and we also have pointed out that he is a better passer

We could name this new offense the inverted iso, all the teams would rush to follow: Atlanta, New York, Miami

Anybody who thinks Tito Maddox should even be in the NBA needs to take a Basketball for Dummies course.

So you would rather play with two PGs in the backcourt instead of a PG and a traditional SG?

Steve is improving. Let's be patient His main problem is moving too fast. He needs to learn the art of hypnotizing defenders by slowing down a little bit and making the quick pass...Gary Payton and Sam Cassell do this well. Although these PGs have a little back to the basket game so they can see the floor better. I'll even put another good assist man Mark Jackson in that group. If I could give Steve advice, I'd ask him to incorporate a little back to the basket game.

Also a lot of his passes come after he jumps in the air. I'd ask him to stay grounded every now and then look for good angles to dump it off.

I think another reason they don't move Francis to the 2 guard is because right now, he leads his position in scoring. And in the NBA scoring seems to mean everything to the media. However, if he was a shooting guard he'd be 4th or 5th at his position in scoring. Image probably has something to do with it (even if it is a small part)

Francis is a GREAT point guard! The only thing I would want him to improve on is his ball-handling.

The only problem is that the Franchise is the best offensive weapon on this team (with the exception of Yao in a few years). If the rockets are down, Francis is the best option to go to for scoring... if the team is having problems putting the ball in the basket, would you still want Steve to look to create for others??? Hell no! He's our best offensive player, I want him to take the shots!

As the Rockets offense improves, less they will rely on Francis to score for them. I don't wanna see him anywhere else but the 1!

Hmmm, funny, I've heard people say that Mobley's defense has improved greatly this year, so I guess it does mean "to be tough".
