Just a place to start All Star discussion... after a year when we thought we traded away our only 2 All Stars, we may have a few on our hands sooner than expected.

Tough to get multiple guys in with a sub .500 record though

I think Lowrie and Altuve have to make it if things don't change. I'm hoping Myers gets in, but I figure he'll be a casualty of our record

Altuve is a given based on how weak it is at 2B in the NL.

    Lowrie might get snubbed.

Lowrie should be a lock. Best SS in the NL. Tulo probably gets voted in.

Altuve should be in, but Infante and Uggla are pretty every bit as deserving, if not more so. I think his story will get him in.

CJ still has a chance, but David Freese & Hanley Ramirez have moved clearly ahead of him, with David Wright the starter.

I like Myers chances, though he may get squeezed out. Depends on how the rosters are shaking out and how many relievers they want. Aroldis Chapman is a lock (most disgusting numbers I've ever seen) and there are 4-5 guys that I could easily see going over Myers.

I wouldnt go that far. He is having a nice year no doubt, but I don't see how he gets in over Tulo (doesnt deserve it, but stupid fan voting will get him in.), starlin castro (having a good year for the cubs and they need a rep even though they are horrible.), and rafael furcal, who is having a nice year. CJ doesnt have a chance unless tons of 3b gets hurt and he is a replacement.

He should be. Furcal is having a nice year, but not even close to Lowrie, and Furcal's numbers are on a downward slope. Castro has a nice BA, but that is it. LaHair is the 2nd best 1B in the NL this season, and would be the Cubs rep if it were today.

CJ doesn't have a chance, due to lack of name recognition, but he is 2nd in BA (or was) among NL 3B. He has fallen back in OPS though as Hanley has caught fire to make it difficult to climb any higher than 3rd.

I think Castro might not get in given his recent very public lapses in the field + his manager threatening to sit him for defensive miscues + it coming to light that he leads the majors (I think that's what I read) in defensive misplays/bad plays

We should probably start voting for Tulo for SS in order to help Lowrie. Furcal winning the vote would hurt him.

I want to see Lowrie, Altuve and Wandy all make it but I'm pretty sure we'll only get one. (likely Altuve, maybe Lowrie if he smacks some more long balls)

I don't see how there's any way to justify Wandy at this point. There are just too many SPs in the NL having outstanding years. All with ERAs in the mid-2s, WHIPs around 1, and tons of strikeouts: Strasburg, McDonald, Cain, Gio Gonzales, Hamels, Beachy, Lynn, Kershaw, Capuano, Santana.

That's 10 pitchers having far and away better seasons, let alone all the ones that are in Wandy's general range.

    LOL

Lowrie is leading all MLB SS in OPS by more than 50 points. Tied for 1st in HR (Ahead by 3 in the NL). 1st in Slugging in MLB. 1st in NL in OBP.

If Lowrie doesn't make it (barring him slowing down), it will be the biggest snub on either team.

With Infante falling back, Altuve is looking like a sure fire All-Star as well.

Lowrie and Altuve definitely deserve it but that doesn't have much to do with it a lot of times.
