Thoughts on his potential in the NBA? Also, if the Rockets trades Lowry, wouldn't he be a good choice if available at 14 or 16th?

He would be. Damian Lillard seems to be the hot name out there right now in the PG world, but I'm hesitant on him because of the lack of steller competition.

Kendall Marshall is a proven leader on the floor. He led the nation in assists in 2011. No-brainer as an individual talent.

    Defense is suspect.

Weaknesses: Defense, very little scoring ability, and shooting
Strength: Great court vision, good passer, and can get to basket (fairly well).

    BPA! :)

I'm not too high on Marshall. I think he'll become a solid player, but this league is filled with really good PGs.

IMO he got a ton of cheap assists just by throwing ahead of the break passes to Zeller (who's great a running the floor) and lobs to Henson (who's obviously a tremendous athlete).
I think he's a good court vision, but I believe his assists numbers are a bit deceiving.

He's actually an OK shooter when set, but on the move he's quite bad.
He also doesn't get to the line and while he has a little old man game in him, I'm not sure he's quite crafty enough to finish in the NBA.

I also think he will have trouble staying in front of guys.

There are lots of other guys who I don't love who are projected to go in the late lottery-early 20 range, so he may actually be one of the better options, but I'd probably prefer to trade up, out or down and grab a guy like Royce White in the late teens/early 20s.

With all the love that was thrown Rubio's way, I'm surprised that Marhsall is looked over. Both run a great break, have their athletic limitations, are crafty with the ball, and have shooting concerns. I didn't see Rubio play much in Europe so I never commented on his potential. But to me Marhsall was clearly the best college PG this year and it wasn't even close.

An older Mark Jackson without the flash?

For me, I wouldn't want to draft him just because I think he's going to be a journeyman. A really good one that makes fans everywhere he goes, but is going to constantly be pushed out undeservedly by younger prospects who score more and make more highlight reel plays.

I like him, but I feel like point guards like him are a dime a dozen. Given our success with the 2nd round "diamonds in the rough" I'd rather we use our 1st round picks on a big and a shooting guard or package them to trade up, then draft a 2nd string point guard later on or sign an undrafted one.

Completely disagree. Cheap assist? 99% of the PGs in college couldn't make the passes he made. He has unbelievable court vision and is a terrific passer. Absolutely absurd to call them 'cheap' or diminish what he did last year.

When he was inserted into the starting lineup his freshman year, the team did a 180 and looked like a legitimate threat to win the title. UNC was one of the favorites to again win the title last year before he got hurt. How did they look when he went down? Terrible. All he does is make those players around him better.

How good was he at Carolina? He broke the record for: UNC Single Season Assist Total; ACC Single Season Assist Total; UNC Assists Per Game Season; ACC Assists Per Game Season; UNC Assists Per Game Career.

You got one thing right though -- he is a decent spot up shooter, but overall not a real offensive player. Still improving his shot, but that shouldn't be anything that makes you shy away from him.

While he may not be as quick laterally, he is a tall PG at 6'4 that will allow him to make up for some of his lack of quickness. He's just a flat out elite "true PG."
