    Cannibalism has always been around. It's weird, because I don't think zombies actually ate people in pre-Romero zombie stories/films. Most zombie stories were mostly center around a voodoo or supernatural priest, people who were brainwashed by aliens, or ghoul stories.

    That's why his (Romero) concept had novelty to it -ghouls who were now cannibals . . . zombies. Funny thing is, I do not think in any of the three original Romero movies that any actually referred to the walking dead as zombies. Moreover, the zombies in pre-Romero horror movies did not crave flesh, like in the Living Dead
