So.....Rondo gets whacked in the face, and instead of getting 2 free throws, the refs ignore the call, and haslem does a dunk, putting the heat up 2 instead of boston potentially going up 2. And, Wade kicks his feet at garnett to draw contact, and garnett gets called for the foul. i also noticed how Stiesma's 4 early fouls were pathetic, he barely touches Lebron, and yet he gets called for the foul. everytime wade or lebron get touched, i hear the refs blow their whistle, and im tired of it.
Yeah it's getting hard not to. I keep hoping it gets better, but it's not. Stern leaving is the first step to it getting better.... Basketball is such a great sport...but stern is ruining it.
Lol at you! Do you know who is taking over for him? His skinny right hand man who covers the draft after pick 30. Basically a younger stern....so goodluck with seeing changes.
Stern is such a SNAKE remmeber back in 2008 when the NBA refs went on strike lol And that preseason the NBA used replacement refs. And people were actually happy that the replacement showed no favoritism towards NBA Stars, i remmeber Kobe had 3 fouls in the first half againist the Warriors on ESPN. I was shocked People were complaining because the refs were litterally calling everything, and that the games were taking forever to finish. But after a while the players started adjusting and realized that they were NOT gonna get away with carries, travels, and double dribbles. And we started seeing much better basketball, and over time the foul count got lower, and the game was being called correctly Unfornately Stern brought back the MOB NBA Refs, and the teribble officiating continued Long Story short BRING BACK THE REPLACEMENT REFS
Its weird i critize the NBA, but i love the game so much. I could not just shut it off Looking at Rondo's performance tonight, is one of the many reasons why i watch the NBA. You just never know who is gonna have a BREAKOUT game, and elevate their level of play. Also many americans are lucky that we get to see the best Basketball players in World every season NBA Players are way more popular than any other american athlete not names Michael Phelps, or Tiger Woods. I liked how Stern globalized the game, but i just wish he would listen to his PAYING fans just once
I would say NBA athletes like Kobe and Lebron are more popular than Michael Phelps. No one really cares about him outside of America. Stern wants to protect his league but goes overboard with it.
they're the minions of stern and they cater to b****in divas, then the commissar wonders why his divas are impossible to negotiate with. =/ the most frustrating part, when the commissar is asked about superstar calls, with his condescending fugly smirk, he will say there are no such things. So I don't expect it to get better. In the past super star calls existed, but they were countered when said superstar played on the road and by allowing defenders to actually play defense with the hand check.
Go ref a high school game and tell me how easy it is. If this is about rondo's non call, how about the non calls against lebron in the post or on the perimeter? How can anyone guard him without fouling?
Basketball is a hard game to call, but there's very little consistency with the refs. I'm not just talking about from player to palyer- obviously that's going to happen in a league where the sizes range from 6'0" to 7'6""- but from referee to referee. Some refs don't call anything, other refs call everything. The league doesn't do anything about it, they should at least attempt to have consistency.
That's a horrible argument. NBA refs are professionals who get paid and are suppose to be the best of the best. It might not be "easy" but that is the whole point of why these certain individuals are being employed, because they are suppose to be great at their jobs. Whenever Patrick Patterson had a bad game and he gets criticized is it valid to make the same argument in...."go make an NBA team and tell me how easy it is." or "go shoot a pick and pop 18 footer in front of 18,000 people and tell me how easy it is."? No its not and nothing in the NBA is easy whether it be for the players or for the refs, but all of these guys are supposedly talented enough to get paid and do their jobs effectively. The argument here is why are there so many refs in the NBA that have proven they are not good at their jobs?
