Didn't have time or desire to create a list.

But if I did...I'd start with Anthony Davis. And then find a mock draft and scratch off every name with less than 3 years of college ball.

Yep...Davis and the next 13 juniors or seniors...ignoring height, long arms and athleticism. That's the $Ball List. ;)

I dont know. I am hoping whoever we pick is the top pick in this draft when we look back on it. No matter if he is chosen 14th or 16th. I hope he is the best player when we look back on it.

He won't be, Anthony Davis is in this draft class and he's going to New Orleans thanks to Stern.

Well, I know you are being facetious but there's something to that. I do believe Morey values juniors and seniors that stayed and improved and finally dominated the college game over underperforming freshman that are one and done or underperforming sophomores (Terrence Jones) that don't show improvement or show significant immaturity.

Im almost positive they thought Morris would do no less than push Bud for the starting SF spot .... No one saw Parsons jumping both of those guy's on the depth chart , essentially cementing Morris to the bench.

Sadly Morris' (and Bud's) play was underwhelming enough for 6'5" C.Lee to get minutes at the SF spot. No knock on Lee at all ... But you like more size at the position , especially when defending guy's like Gay , Durant and James.

Moultrie is def. not a center. But's he's gonna be a damn good PF. I get flashes of Aldridge.

    Hahaha, just saw this.

This is absolutely true . . . but what is either false or wrong about this?

The fact is, no two NBA teams' draft boards are the same, so a team will obviously have some players ranked above/below where they are ranked on another team's board. So, unless the Rockets have the EXACT same 14-16 players ranked at the top of their boards that the (up to) 13 teams picking ahead of them have, the Rockets will INEVITABLY get a guy who is higher on their draft board than 14 or 16!

Also, as another poster in this thread pointed out, there's nothing wrong with your PR department encouraging this sort of quote from the front office guys. It's not like Morey, Hinkie, Rosas and others spent countless hours devising a secret plan to utter this line to the media. IT'S THE FREAKING TRUTH! As long as it's the truth, just because it's PR spin doesn't mean people need to get upset about it.

But . . . haters will be haters.

(hsf09, I know you were just joking, so don't take this as criticism of you.)

I was not being facetious. My point...for a very long time now...has been that analytics can only tell you what a player has accomplished to date. There's a huge difference in the amount of upside potential between a 19 year old and 22 year old.

To recognize the difference requires basketball (not arithmatic) accumen combined with the ability to take some risks. IMHO, I've not seen anything from Rockets' management other than the arithmatic approach. Which generally yields safe picks with less upside.
