I used to be a a foreign car guy, but I'm a Ford truck guy now. Doubt I'd try a Ford vehicle but who knows. They know trucks though.
Hey Manny. Glad to hear you're doing ok after getting banged up. As much as i love mustangs, I had to sell off my '06. Paying for a boat, a truck, and my Mustang was just not making it easy on my finances. I will say that these new mustangs, with a few modifications, can really be aggressive and not look like "chick cars" which i never understood in the first place. The fact that these new V6's are putting out 300 hp is amazing. My 06 GT had 300, with its 4.6 3 valve. Of course, once I installed my Kenne Belle Supercharger, it was pushing over 500 hp to the wheels. Congrats on the new car. Mustangs are addicitive. With the easy modifications and the market for these cars, its very easy to become and enthusiast and drop a lot of coin into the car.
Lynus302 is someone else you really need to hear from. Im still waiting for DaDakota to gift me a Shelby '67 GT500 ragtop.
^ FT, So you don't own a Mustang at all? I'm really surprised by that. What do you think of Ford bringing back the Boss 302? Thanks for your post and your well wishes; I am doing better - keep praying for me.
I like seriously killed one of those test driving a CTS-V yesterday. I mean it was not even close. Good times.
BTW- In 1990 I came home to find a '89 GT in the garage. Loved that car and I was one of this first to have MoMo rims, lol. That one got totaled and I ended up with a '95 Saleen. Loved that car, but both had the A/C go out constantly and seemed to always over heat. As for the new styles, they are now great straight line AND as track cars, but I still don't get the live rear axle. This is 2012.
I would say you are not too concerned about cost of insurance, gas mileage, and/or speeding if you bought a Mustang. You are still talking about a car that has over 300 hp...aren't you? Your logic is a bit flawed imo but you bought the car you wanted so you don't need to sell me on the logic part. lol
Crazy...I know. I love the Boss 302. I sometimes wish I had not sold it, but it was digging me into a hole. Pray for me too. I'm going through some hard times.
I've posted about this car before. I used to own a 1965 Mustang Fastback 2+2, which looked something like this, but with the original wheels. It had the 289 V-8 271hp engine, automatic, Silversmoke Grey with a red interior, and an AC that could freeze you out. My Dad bought it new for about $3000 bucks. It was one of the first 2+2's in Texas, a student of his being the son of the Ford dealer in Orange, Texas. We both loved that car, and I would probably still have it if it hadn't been totaled. He gave it to me after the film Bullitt came out, and he bought a Mustang very much like the one McQueen drove. :-(-
