I thought you were wanting to "blow some money on the H." Seems almost more reasonable, actually.

Go to Prohibition, it is a nice bar/lounge inside Galleria (next to where Fox Sports grill used to be), also has food.

    The drinks are amazing!

I hope the OP's post was tongue-in-cheek. There aren't any truly upscale bars/lounges like London or NYC so you really need to adjust your expectations.

I recommend Killen's if you like steak. Don't be fazed by the exterior since the food is worth it. Or, go to the original Brenner's, and grab drinks at Monnalisa or Roak.

Congratulations on having a well-paying job in this economy.

Haha it is tongue-in-cheek. I knew I would get a lot of crap for it but I wanted to have a little fun with people. But yeah just looking to release a little after years of hard work.

I booked Vic and Anthonys for us and yeah we have a driver so we don't have to drink and drive.

Repped all the people who gave serious advice and will rep those afterwards also.

of course you knew bigtexxx would come and save the day from this sea of jealous poors

son, listen up -- you've come to the right place.

    1. Steakhouse -- you need to go to either Del Frisco's, or Pappas. Vic and Anthony's is ok too, I guess. Please order a nice bottle of wine -- maybe a Far Niente, Insignia or Dominus. If you prefer Bordeaux, something from Saint Julien or Margaux.

    2. For pre-game, go to the bar at Eddie V's or Katsuya in West Ave. Uptown Sushi is one of my personal favorites, but you'll look like an idiot with other 21 year old dudes in cheap suits.

    3. upscale bar -- Roak or Roosevelt

    4. Strip club (it's been a long long long while since I've been) -- sources tell me Men's Club, St James or Treasures

if you spend less than $500 a man, you didn't have fun.

You would do better waiting for a 3 day weekend and taking a mini trip. The upscale restaurants/bars won't be as big of a deal to you after a while and this night won't be that special. Especially if you go to Pappas, lmao. Being the new guy, you've probably been taken to a nicer place than that for lunch.

lol I love uneducated poors' responses

I'm talking about Pappas Steakhouse, not Pappas burgers.

I was surprised you didn't respond sooner...

    1. I'm surprised you changed your mind from Vic and Anthony's, any particular reason why? Here is what you said 6 years ago on a thread about best steakhouse in Houston:

    2. I'll look into those places. As far as cheap suits, I can't speak for my other friends but mine is a tailored suit I got while traveling in Europe for job recruiting.

    3. I was looking at Roak reviews and it is actually right next to my apartment at the Gables so it would be real nice to just walk over. Only problem I saw on the reviews is that they don't let in people under 25??? Anyone know if this is accurate? If so, Roosevelt looks like the place to go.

    4. I was thinking Treasures but I remember there was a negative thread about Treasures a couple weeks ago.

not poor and Pappas Steakhouse ain't that great. Taste of Texas is better. Vic and Anthony's is much better.
