Understandable, but I don't recall that team or those 4 guys getting a lot of backlash for forming a superteam.

Yes, and if another great player would have come at a discount we would not have cared.

Yes, a very good guy that came here to ring chase, because our team had 3 HOF players on it. And we didn't complain when we got Pippen either.

I hope Nash doesn't go to Miami. Anywhere else but Miami! I always thought he'd look great in a Rockets uniform. One can dream.

Can you imagine being the poor sap playing PF/C on that team? The star studded lineup of Nash Wade LeBron and Bosh, and then you alone trying not to look out of place on the court.

Nash on Indiana makes a lotta sense. The 76ers have PGs but that team could use Nash as well.

Any team with an awesome defense but mediocre offense could use Nash. Orlando of course should do everything they can to get Nash

    Nash not a Magician

Orlando has no hope of signing Nash. They can only offer him the MLE. If I'm choosing a Florida team for the MLE to play for...it's the Heat especially with all the uncertainty of Magic keeping Howard and having to reup on Ryan Anderson who would be real nice next to Nash.

    Sage/Wizard Gold

Well...fool's gold or not it is an upgrade to their team and will surely generate more revenue for the Pacers. So consider it a business move rather than basketball move. Maybe make some more signings, trades, and draft smart the following year and they can upgrade to sage's gold. Or do you prefer wizard's gold? ;)

Except Miami CAN'T offer Nash the MLE because they're above the lux tax. Orlando can because they amnestied Gilbert, while Miami will stay above lux tax unless they amnesty one of the Big Three.

Now Terry says he wants to play in Miami too.

How long before the rest of the league folds?

How does that work? So if your over the cap you can offer full MLE but if you are over the luxury tax you can only offer a mini-MLE...whatever that is?

They can still amnesty either Mike Miller or Haslem for more money to sign Nash to the full MLE.

Then sign Greg Oden to the LLE for an experiment to get him back to health. Nothing to lose if they bring back J.Anthony and a vet center.

    Kevin Martin to Magic

And what would we get back? I want nothing on their team besides D.Howard, R.Anderson, and draft picks. Howard ain't going to the Rockets and Anderson would be money next to Nash.

Put to ponder on it I guess Kevin Martin for J.Nelson, E.Clark, unprotected 1st round pick(s) perhaps? Only thing feasible I can see and is not appealing as a Rockets fan.

    C Howard, Big Baby
    PF Anderson, Turkoglu
    SF J-Rich, Q-Rich
    SG Martin, Redick
    PG Nash, Duhon

They would be a FORCE though if somehow this did happen. Would be raining threes from the heavens.

people say that Nash wouldn't be as valuable with the heat as he would elsewhere... I partly agree but people need to take another factor into account

    - nash has a super high Shooting and true shooting percentage and thats with him creating his own shot
    - if lbj or wade would be handling the ball and all nash had to do was spot up... imagine his shooting numbers

you better hope nash resigns with the Suns is you want Dragic back. Dragic has made public statments about wanting to resign there in free agency, since it became his adopted home during his time in the league, and he's comfortable there. I don't see him resigning there if Nash reups, but if Nash walks ...watch out. Suns' fans love him, they'll be needing a PG, and they have an ass-load of cap room.

relegating Steve Nash to spotup shooting is a big waste of his talent

If I were him I'd still hold out for the biggest payday he can get this summer - then play as many years he wants after for whatever team when his next free agency comes up. He'll be playing at a decent clip when he's 50, right? Eventually he can play overseas and win a 'chip in China when he's 53.

Bump of Nash to the Pacers, Magic, or Heat?

Bumping this thread now that we have seen the Pacers, Magic, and Heat in the playoffs who would be the teams I see Nash being the best fit for.

As demonstrated by the Pacers vs Heat series, the Pacers need to get a more playmaking type of PG to orchestrate the offense. They looked lost at times out there with Miami's defense. Put Nash on the Pacers against this Heat team without Bosh and I think they could have upset the Heat. Nash would have got Hibbert the ball and hit the open man on the three in stride.

Magic would be a nice fit if they got Kevin Martin as well even though I stated I don't know what the Magic would offer the Rockets that they would be willing to give outside of unprotected draft picks. And with the firing of the coach and GM not sure what direction the Magic are going to go. Keep or trade Howard?

The Heat would be overkill. They are in the East Finals up 1-0 without there 3rd best player. Nash would catapult the Heat into almost unbeatable come playoff time. Adding a playmaker that makes your bigs better, high fg%, high ft%, and high 3point% isn't even fair to a team with two top-5 players already on the team.

I would go Heat, Pacers, then Magic on his list though the Pacers could give him the most money and a legit shot.
