Eaxactly. They should be all aboard for Morey to finally hit on something. If he doesnt I know I will lose my brain on this man if he loses Dragic and keeps a disgruntled Lowry. End up the same as last year with a disgruntled star and two mid round picks who end up like role players. Morey needs to do more than just try this time.
3 years in a row zero playoff appearances. Nuff said. They have to try different things because whatever the front office is doing right now is not working
I could be mistaken. But I just don't think "tall" and "super athletic" are part of the Rockets mathematical calculations to determine "ability". Could be wrong...but just a suspicion with historical Lottery precedence.
I just want to poop on Les Alexander. He is the primary source of problems 2 & 3. 1 is just Houston Sports.
It only seems that we're going in circles because the superstar trade doesn't happen. Rather than let the assets expire, DM and his crew have to reload the assets into new ones. However, there are a couple of things wrong with his post, namely: 1) The rockets only missed out on a superstar player once, when Denver was dealing Melo and they chose NY's package over ours. The other superstars we missed out on were due to other reasons, and not because the assets we have aren't good enough: *Bosh-already made up his mind to play with Wade and LBJ *Gasol-deal got STERNED *DH-Bimathug was saying he would have been traded to us if DH didn't opt in. 2) The asset base has been growing every year. Of course the lazy way to look at it is, oh we missed the playoffs again, its just the Rox spinning their wheels But the fact is, building a team takes time, you don't become contenders overnight. By my count, Yao Ming only retired last season, so its not like we've been rebuilding for the last 10 years like how people make it out to be. OTH, the number of assets we have coming in this year is so much better than last: Heading into 2011-2012 season: Blue-chip assets: KM, Kyle Lowry, Patterson Attractive assets: C-bud, Scola, 14th pick Heading into 2012-2013 season: Blue chip assets: Kyle Lowry, Dragic, Parsons, D-Mo Attractive assets: 14th pick, 16th pick, Morris, KM (expiring), Dalembert (partially guaranteed) So, while the Rox have had the same result, their situation is improving year after year. If you think about it, last year we only had 1 foundation guy (lowry). This year, we had Dragic, Lowry, parsons and D-Mo, who I think will be a strong contender for ROY next year.
There is another thing in your post that has to be addressed. I think they have to go ahead and bring over D-mo and go ahead and get that era started. See what Donatus has for the NBA next year. Get rid of Lowry, Scola, and Martin and totally reload with youngsters. Parsons, Dragic reups with Lee, our new draft pick or pick, and Donatus/Morris making their names.
Because if clutchfans members say something then it must be true? I guess DeAndre Jordan must be the biggest rising young center in the NBA right now.
The biggest setback for the Rockets has been Budinger/TWill/Patterson/Morris not developing. Morey has said it time and again, something to the effect of "we need players to take that next step". Lowry did it this year and that's why he's our most tradable asset. DM was able to turn Brooks and Landry into valuable trade assets, but since then it's been one dud after another. Parsons could turn into something but we thought the same thing about Bud after his first year.
this rockets team reminds me of the Saints when Mickey Loomis got hired as the GM. I have faith Morey can turn this around in due time...and with no natural disaster.
