Would Morey have even drafted Akeem or would he have passed on him because he was too raw? Even if he did draft him, would DM have had the patience to let Olajuwon develop or would he have cashed in his "asset" for something that was more tangible after a few years? In Maury we trust? I shudder to think.
Video was too short. That footwork... is he a wizard? That kind of footwork from a big man can only come from sorcery. No other explanation.
One thing i noticed is how he always got that beautiful high arc. Very few big men replicate that today.
Morey hasn't reached @ the 14th pick. The "raw" players you are talking about at the 14th pick and at the 1st pick are COMPLETELY different. That said if Morey went with the less raw player and fell into Michael Jordan, I don't think it would've been that bad. That draft makes any franchise GM look like a genius except Portland, they found a way to f that up.
I've never thought about it, but I wonder if a young Jordan/Healthy Ralph combo would have won a title in the '80s.
Greatest center to ever strap on shoes... and to think he didnt start playing bball untill i think 14... its like watching poetry in motion...
This has probably been posted 100 times on this board... Never gets old though. Good editing, beast moves.
Dribble and moves like lebron... crossin over like AI... spinnin like barry sanders... hookin like kareem.... dunkin like griffin...
I hope I get to see another big that's as skilled as Hakeem was, watching the centers today almost depresses me when I see Hakeem clips.
