Would have had no idea it was his birthday if wasn't for the Moog on Google's homepage today. Moog VSTs have been a staple of mine for a few years now. All BBS musicians and producers should drop a shoutout to the man in this thread!

Geddy Lee = Mini Moog = Tom Sawyer intro And, where would sports arenas be without the Tom Sawyer whoosh intro?

I've never used one in my life, and never will, but I can tell you this..... My Mom briefly dated Bob Moog in NYC during the early 1950s when they were high-schoolers. Moog went to the Bronx High School for Science and my Mom went to the High School of Music & Art in NYC, where one of her classmates was Diahann Carroll. True story!
Roger Joseph Manning Jr. (Formerly of Jellyfish and Imperial Drag, currently studio musician for Beck and Air) formed up a duo called Moog Cookbook a few years back with some other dude. They released an album of 90's covers, and one with 60's and 70's tracks. Fun stuff. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UQYNcZmbOEc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
