That's exactly what's going to happen. Isn't it obvious that the PR foundation is being laid.

At this point Scola and Budinger should be enough for Gasol

Hah gotta love it. Rockets are the masters of "almost deals". We almost had a deal for Pau! We almost had a deal for Dwight! We almost had a deal for Carmelo! We almost had a deal for Deron! We almost had a deal for Amar'e! We almost had a deal for Chandler! We almost had a deal for Nene! We almost had a deal for Bosh! We almost had a deal for Gortat! We almost had a deal for you Goran Dragic!

Ahh I've heard this before too.

Yuck yuck yuck. Yuck then, yuck now. Yuck you Daryl! :p

Forget Pau, resign Dragic and overpay Eric Gordon and Omer Asik. Try to trade for Josh Smith with all of our picks/assets. Trade Lowry along with dumping Martin's expiring. Could be:

    Dragic
    Gordon
    Smith
Either Scola or Patterson - whichever one is left.
    Asik

    Not a bad starting lineup.

No amount of trade talk, no matter who it comes from, writer or not, will make getting Pau Gasol a good trade. Who cares if Feigen wrote it. It is still a bad move.

I strongly suspect that Les is growing impatient and Morey is growing desperate, and desperate general managers have nothing to lose, and that worries me. This is the NBA folks. All it takes is one desperate blunder to set a franchise back half a decade.

"Almost had a deal" should be the Rockets slogan next year at the Toyota Cent.er

If you keep insisting Pau is a star still. Have no idea what Moreys direction is with going after over the hill stars. Maybe it works? I just dont see why he wants older stars who do not want to play here.

Yea it is getting a bit ridiculous. At this point i don't care to hear any rumors or proposed deals until the player is wearing a Rockets uniform......and even then it might not be a sure thing.

The Houston Rockets are like a retirement home. It's where the have/has-beens go to spend the twilight years of their careers.

Isn't Josh Smith a power forward? Why would he start alongside Scola/Patterson? Keep Parsons in the starting line-up and let Smith start at the 4, trade Scola and Patterson and let Donuts be the back-up 4.

However, I still have a problem overpaying for Gordon when he has had health issues his entire career and cannot stay on the court long enough to benefit his team. If we sign Gordon we could quickly look like the Hornets did last season. (I know this last statement will have a pro-tanker jumping with joy)

I say try to trade up in the draft and get your own young player to groom.

I just feel like we should get more high potential guys.

IMO we already have D-Mo and Morris. If Morris can rebound and have a good sophomore season his value will increase...then we have Parsons...

+ whoever we draft on draft day(Lamb..the 3rd...whoever) and resign Dragic and suddenly it looks we have a lot more young pieces to move. Either one of these guys becomes a keeper or we trade them for the next star looking to escape his team.

What do you want to pay to get a maxed out player soon-to-be 32 with meh gas left in his tank?

    0

I'd rather keep Martin and watch him smile on the bench than take on Pau's contract. He has negative value IMO - a lot of negative value. If the Lakers can't find a new home for him, I think they will use their amnesty on him very soon.

Id rather have lopez than pau. At least lopez is young and has room to grow. Gasol has been sulking since last playoffs. Put him in houston and u will see pau part 2 in memphis. Not only that he's de 38m over the next 2 yrs.

we cannot overpay for Pau. If they want scola and Lowry no way. I would send them the Dallas Pick back and they pay half of his Salary. We can get so much more for Lowry i bet Portland would send us there top 1st for Lowry.

it's as if people who still want gasol don't even watch him play.

david stern saved the immediate future of our franchise, and bailed morey out of utter embarrassment.

the lakers are smart enough to know that they cant win with kobe bryant, gasol, and andrew bynum.

morey was doing all he could to put together a team of gasol, nene, and kyle lowry. how does anybody continue to look past the fact that he is a lousy gm? it baffles me.
