    I feel sorry for...

Les Alexander because his team is last in attendance.

Rudy Tomjanovich because has to deal with his team's growing pains.

Steve Francis because he is always blamed for Rockets losses.

Yao Ming because he was bashed by the media at the start of the season.

I haven't seen attendance figures. Are we really last in attendance? If so, that is astounding!! We have the most exciting rookie in the game, along with one of the game's best point guards, and a winning team to boot. How could we be last in attendance?

I can't fathom it. Simply amazing.

Yep. I feel sorry for all of them.

But I think Atlanta is worse in attendance than us. The fourth biggest city in the nation doesn't care about the Rockets...:(. Or maybe there's too many internet-saavy and lazy people who just sit at home and watch them.

The Rockets are not last in the league in attendance. They are third from the bottom. Not great, but not too terribly awful either. The average is up a full ten percent over last year, and (on the whole) shows an upward trend.

GSW (through 15 home dates): 14104
NJN (through 16 home dates): 13497
Den (through 14 home dates): 13496
HOU (through 13 home dates): 12797
Atl (through 13 home dates): 12267
Cle (through 15 home dates): 11526

So far this season, comparing with last year, I have watched 2 more games in Compaq center. The attendance did go up but not to an expected rate.

I think attendance will pick up next season. What's even more pathetic to me is the fans for NJ Nets.

10% cut in the ticket price is a suggestion from a poor guy like me.

    Depends on our development.
If we continue to play well and make the playoffs, the fair-weather fans will come.

    As far as Jersey goes........:(

I think the Compaq Center can only hold like 16,000 people. I think 16,000 was last years avg NBA attendance per game. Basically, we have a small building. Even with sellouts every time, we'd be in the avg. Now, why we aren't selling out games is a good question.

Hmm...don't really feel REAL sorry for anyone. I kind of feel sorry for Griffin after Bill Walton's attack on him. I feel sorry that Yao has so much pressure. Um....I feel sorry for those delicious Kit-Kats. They never seem to live long when I'm around. :D

You can save money on the service charge (and thus cheaper ticket, I guess) by buying tickets directly from the Rockets ticket office.

As for the Nets, I went to a game in NJ against SA earlier this year. Pretty good matchup. You'd think some people would show up to support the reigning Eastern Conf. champs against TD and one of the best teams from the West...Nope! Not only is that place about 1/2 empty but it is totally deada in there. Made the Summit feel like a thumping place.

As for the poor support of our Rockets, it makes me embarassed to call myself a Houstonian. What's up with people? It's the holidays, the team is generally playing well at home (except the Utah game I went to Mon.) and we have a young, exciting team with the most intriguing new player in years. Believe me, I realize that tickets are expensive, but you see fine and be plenty loud from the $10 and $13 seats. I admit that Houston is a fair-weather city, but it sure woould be nice to see Clutch City's love with the Rockets back to how it was in '94 and '95. I truly believe we'll play even better if we as a city) would support the Rockets at home games cuz these young guys like Steve and cat feed off the crowd. This place could turn into a helluva a home court if we do our part.

Rudy is problaly the happiest coach after scoring on Yao

Yao is the pride of lots of people and he does not need to be feeled sorry for

Steve Francis, althought got critized for the loss, but also credit for the win, that is what team leader's responsiblity
