See the Curt Schilling 38 Studios thread, lol. Should be first page still. It's a good game, but it's single player only. The art direction was done by Todd McFarlane, and the story RA Salvatore I believe. I really enjoyed the combat on it...but I think Diablo is better naturally. It's definitely worth a look.
There is no cow level...or is there? See spoiler below. Spoiler This is a huge spoiler...don't click it if you don't want to see it! Spoiler There's video at the link; I'd include it but youtube is blocked here at work. http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/18/diablo-3s-secret-world-discovered/
I actually got the recipe for the staff needed to get to the "special" level last night. Now I need to gather the materials... and money. Lots of money.
Guess I'm going to buy this game and get in line for server crashes. I can't believe I didn't buy this thing after having waited for it for so long. I must be old.
I finally beat Diablo tonight. GG. A friend of mine and I gathered the materials and cleared the secret level. I got a legendary item out of it...it seems to be kind of a joke item. I'd be more specific but the servers just went down for maintenance. I'll post it later. Anyway it's worth doing once, but...you'd think for the amount of money and time you have to sink into it you'd get better loot.
lol it's true, I was in today.. environment and everything you fought was over the top ridiculous and the loot that dropped in it was actually had some really nice stuff.
Just started Hell, lvl 51 wd with monk + dh, first elite pack outside a1 town had 490k hp each and fast run speed, had to kite all the way back to town, fun times
Man, I just beat it on Normal difficulty and thought I was making pretty good time. So much for that idea. Guess I'll start on Nightmare difficulty later tonight.
Well, I decided to start playing it tonight and I've gotten to where they find "the Stranger" with no memory. Can't say this is all that exciting - probably because I've played both Diablos and games like Dungeon Siege which are Diablo clones. BTW, did any of you play Torchlight? That game was basically a clone of Diablo and played pretty much like Diablo 3 except every other dungeon you went to in that game was the same dungeon. Overall, so far, I'm liking the special effects, but the overall gameplay is nothing really original or groundbreaking. It's still a big ol' clickfest where you'd have to be braindead to have a hard time beating it on "Normal". Of course I say that having only played a portion of the game. Now watch me get my butt handed to me. The King Leoric battle and the part with the "pillars" was a pretty fun battle.
I played TL but haven't played D3. Are the two really alike, since I thought it was a pic-for-pic clone of D2.... TL2 is supposed to allow 8 players. ...Has nothing really advanced for D3????????
I felt this way through act 1(rather disappointed in fact), but after finishing up act 2 I feel a lot better about the revamped click feat.
I think anyone who currently think d3 is just another mindless click-fest will change their minds once they reach higher difficulty level and familiarize themselves with monster modifiers such as Arcane Enchanted, Mortar, Invulnerable Minions, and Waller/Jailer
Yeah, vampiric/fire chain/illusionist has been the biggest A-hole I've run into so far. Monk gameplay is a lot of fun. So many builds that work for AOE demolition. I've had to upgrade my gear a lot every few levels though to keep my dps high enough to roll through mobs. I'm almost done with A3 nightmare. Have died a decent amount, but mostly from just mindlessly running into elites. There hasn't been anything too challenging yet. I hear hell is another ball game though.
they werent kidding when they said inferno won't be beat for a while, if you think the insane attribute mixes in hell were hard, inferno will make you want to claw your eyes out
I don't like how the difficulty spikes randomly. Just cleared through mobs with ease and then out of nowhere got my ass kicked by ACT 2 boss. I know he's a boss... but jesus lol.
