If I were the coach, I would play Cato as 15 min center +20 min PF.

Denver cheap sells talent for their rebuilding. Denver traded Posey for two scrubs and draft picks. The Spurs got Bateer for a second round pick which is a steal. If the Spurs are not impressed with his skills, why should they trade a pick to get him?

Maybe Bateer has already peaked after 30+ games?

Seriously, I think Mengke Bateer did look a bit more impressive that Yao at the Worlds, but that was due to the fact that Bateer had already experienced the NBA action while Yao was getting his first taste of the NBA. We shouldnt even consider trading for Bateer right now. We need to have patience for Eddie Griffin as we are doing for Yao right now. Remember, dude is only 20 years old. Griffin will be a damn good PF in the years to come, we just have to have patience.

Don Sterling is cheap but not stupid. He underpay his player to make sure he never overpay someone. You think he will take overpaid player??????

Also, Kandi man is going to demand a Max contract. Any team that is cap-concern cannot afford to have more than two Max players. Huston already has SF Max out. Cat will demand a big chunk of money too. Yao will be in another 3-4 yrs. It's never going to happen.

Wang Zhi Zhi is an excellent player- but I don think Rockets would want to deal with him becasue they may piss of the Chinese. Perhaps it has to be a part of a bigger deal to make it look like it was an indirect acquisition.

I am sick and tired of the "mistakes" we are making- handing out major contracts only to see the guys sit on their butt!

And how about someone who can increase our Assists- our guards hog the ball. If we want to win Yao has to take 15-20 shots a game- and preferable a majority before the fourth quarter.

Lately our 3 point shooting is mediocre at best especially when it counted- why is Nachbar on the bench?

Some fans always argue for Wang or Bateer by saying:" Hey, they both dominated in China as much as Yao did, so they should be as good as Yao."

That is a very flawed argument.

It's like: A Ph.D and a college student. They both take the primary school maths test. They will do equally good (dominate). 100 marks. Maximum score. Can't get any better than that. But they are definitely of different quality. The true quality shows when the test gets tougher in college and university. ("You know a horse's true strength when the journey is farther."). Same with CBA and NBA.

Having that said, I've never seen Wang and Bateer play. So I am not saying they are not good. I just wanted to voice my opinion that the logic of that particular argument is not sound.

    Clarence Lui,

So, what do you call yourself? From your name, I can tell that your father and forefathers are ethnic Chinese, and you are not born in mainland China.

I really wonder what you are. You are not a Chinese. Don't say that you are, because you are just a disgrace to overseas Chinese like me because of your ignorance. If you are a USA citizen, then you might want to say that you are American. But by your logic, it looks much like the case of Mengke Bateer with China. So your logic tells you that you are not American either. And your logic also says that Madeleine Albright (US former Secretary of State) is also, not an American? Don't get it? Check your facts.

But I don't know your citizenship. So, I wonder what you are.

Bateer was born in China Mongolia.

Anyway, no one is forcing him to play for China. Go and ask for his own opinion before you decide for him.

LOL! Look who's talking. The overnight-popular SLA who jacked up enough posts to turn from junior member to member in one day, by posting the most in the dumbest thread. But let's respect the fact that he admitted that this is the "dumbest thread", eventhough he contributed the most posts in it.
