I think Cuttino Mobley is a better offensive weapon then people give him credit for.

I think this guy can score and when it seems no one else can score sometimes Mobley can bring some offense,I think they need to try harder to get Mo Taylor involved cuz Ming is gonna do his thing regardless. I just don't know why sometimes when a player is hot they don't keep him more involved.

When Cuttino shoots, it seems it should always go in. I don't think the guy needs the rim. Always swooshes. He also seemsvery composed. That being said, he hasn't been in shooting well since the Indiana game.

I agree with you to a point, but I've noticed this about Mobley: In nearly every game, he has at least one of those shots where he gets the ball in transition with someone blocking his path to the basket, so he jacks up a 3 when there's nobody around to rebound. More often than not, he misses, and those shots just suck the energy right out of the game. It seems like Cat kills a buttload of rallies with his shot selection.

I begun watched Rox games since 2 years ago and especially, this year after Yao ming drafted to this team.

my comment is, Cuttino Mobley is a cancer to this team.

If we want to go up, just simply get rid of this guy.

We need some team player instead of Mobley style "mad shoot".

Mobley has not taken as many shots this year and he seems to be playing somewhat smarter. He plays pretty good defense and doesn't command near as much money as some of the upper tier guys at 2. I think he is good for the team. He can get hot and totally change a game around. Not many players that can do that. Like HoustonTx211 said, he's an offensive weapon.

When to use him is more important than trying to replace him. Most of life is not about what you have, but how you use what you have. Basketball is no different.

Cuttino plays alot smarter than he did a couple of years ago. He starting to understand his role in this team. I like him as a player. He is starting to play better defence. He is a good scorer. He is a good player, and do not forget he was a second round player.

Cuttino is a lot like Tim Hardaway was for the Warriors...

He takes bad shots when you're in a tight game but he's the one who can hit a game-winner or bring you back when your down by double-digits. I think he's gotten smarter this year but some habits are hard to kick. Not only is his decision making getting better but he's starting to show that he can bring it on defense. And another good thing about Cat, as mentioned by the Don, he's cheap (2 more years at around 6mill for a guy who gets all-star consideration). So leave the Cat alone!!!

I am a big fan of Cuttino Mobley. That being said, He came to camp in top condition, but he had ankle fatigue/ hangover from last year - lots of minutes. He has gotten off to a slow start, but should recover, and depending on timeing -should be coming into his own at the all star break for the last half season surge.

He can bring instant offfense like Vinnie (the microwave) Johnson. I think he is trying to pass more and play smarter. He wants to win. I do think he is a winner- do not give up on this man.

Cat is very gifted offensively BUT COULD BE A HELLUVA LOT MORE EFFICENT WITH BETTER SHOT SELECTION!!

Now that zones have shut down much of his one-on-one driving, he depends more on the perimeter game. Just look at his shooting %: 41% overall and 30% for 3's. THAT WON"T CUT IT FOR AN ELITE SG. And he needs to be more willing to share the rock. He is a warrier & improved defensively but his offensive IQ doesn't match his physical skills.

The major side effect of the KT trade.

Cuttino has becomes the next *cancerous* whipping boy.

Poor Cat, I'll bet he is wishing that KT was still here so noone would pick on him

Anyway, Cat is getting better at sharing the ball and allowing the game to come to him in the flow of the offense.
Does he still make mistakes? Of course, he's human...we ALL make mistakes..

Why dont you foks reserve your judgment on Cat until after the break..at his current rate of adaptation to the new offensive style
    he should do fine..

Why do I bother, I know you wont...:(

I'm glad you consider him an elite SG but he isn't. He is in the upper tier, but not elite.

And DR you are right...Cat could be a hell of a lot better, but lets give him time. He is showing he can change his game, so lets wait to see how it develops for the rest of the year.

Cat shoots fairly well when the ball starts in his hands. However, he shoots MUCH better off a pass etc.

He is our best spot up shooter, but seems unwilling to take advantage of that.

Cuttino would benefit the most from Ming if he would let him pass the ball out.

Inside out wins championships...outside in, leaves you outside of the playoffs.

Once this team gels we can start making judgements about each piece and their relevance to the team. When players realize that they can pass the ball and that it will come back to them we will see more passing and more open shots for everyone. Cuttion in particular will benefit the most since (as was mentioned by Dakota) Cat is probably our best shooter. Let everyone play together and get acclimated to this new style of play before we critique our players and their roles.

He's a lot better than those frigging no playin', don't have a clue, wannabe guards on the Chinese Nat'l team.

Does anyone remember when Cuttino was a rook and he backed up Matt Maloney at point guard. This guy can pass the ball if he changed his mentality, but I don't think that is possible. He just seems to arrogant. When he backed up Maloney, he was deffering to Barkley, Olajuwon, and Pippen, but there is no one to defer to now.

I think they need to run more plays to get Cuttino open shots but to me it seems like they pass him the ball to create his own shot.
I do think they should always go to Yao first but just don't forget to get Mobley involved becuase alot of times the team will go cold and they need some offense,Mobley needs his team and the fans to have a lil confidence in him. When Mobley is not shooting the ball well just let him play defense. I think we need to get Mo Taylor going to and Steve Francis needs to learn how to get Mo involved. Steve and Yao can always bring offense at will but its people like Cuttino and Mo who we need to get involved.

I agree with you. He hasn't been taking as many shots as the last couple of years. He doesn't shoot that much anymore. In the beginning of the season, he may have tried too much, but now he has calmed down. And he does pass to Yao. He and Steve are a great duo and know each other so well. And Cuttino Mobley was selected as the 41st pick in the Second Round! We were very lucky to find him. He was almost awarded the Sixth Man of the Year award. And he does not have an outstanding salary like Juwan Howard.

Sometimes the Cat can't make anything. But then he makes a free throw and then he goes on fire. He is still the second highest scorer on our team...and if you all hate him, what other team would want him?

And if everybody hated Cuttino Mobley, why is Cuttino Mobley the 9th most popular guard in the NBA?
