I used to be the Ques-Tec guy at MMP. Wandy was a great pitcher most of the time, he was also the only pitcher to be frequently at the middle of both of my graphs. In layman's terms he made a couple terrible pitches a game and they ended up in the seats. If he has that under control the sky is the limit.
Cocaines a hell of a drug....Come on now Wandy's contract isn't too appealing we are going to have to eat prob. half his contract. If we can get a decent package we should be more than happy.
Wandy's contract is not at all out of line for his production. If anything, he's underpaid for the consistency of excellence that he gives. I understand why rival general managers spew that bull****, hoping they can get a non-contender to accept an underwhelming deal for the sake of pinching pennies... but our own fans don't need to spread or fall for that myth.
So, what do you think trading Wandy would net the Astros? I said he'd get a top 100 prospect (thinking about it, maybe a 65-75 range guy) and a couple of an organization's top 30 guys (rated by Baseball America), and I stand by it.
I would think Singleton is a strong possibility for a September call-up with a chance to win the everyday 1B job next Spring.
Yes. Also, provided that he doesn't ruin himself, Wilton Lopez could be dealt for a mid-level prospect.
Depends on the offering. First year of arbitration is next year, so he is still cheap and under club control for 3 years.
