    How'd you know I'd be checking here. . .

I don't know why, but for some reason I thought his name was Joey Strummer. Well, the Clash were before my time, but I love every song of their's I've ever heard.

Joe Strummer was a frigging genius. "London Calling" has to be considered one of the greatest albums of all-time.

Very sad to hear this news. RIP, Joe:(

The Clash was one of the best bands EVER. I still listen them all of the time. I am totally depressed now.

"The Clash had been tipped to finally play together for a one-off performance next year as they were inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame in the US. "

    So sad. :(

When I see and hear idiot bands like Eminem, NSYNC, and Creed, putting on a Clash record will sooth my soul.

Kids, put down your Green Day and listen to The Clash.

    RIP Joe Strummer

the clash were amazing, everytime a band does an interview they always get asked who influenced your career, the Clash get mentioned by so many of the big acts. U2, Billy Bragg, REM, Green Day, any decent punk band, Peral jam, Nivana and list goes on and on!!

anyone know if there is best of, i have a few albums on vinyl, but this seems appropriate.

btw anyone have his latest release, it is sensational , at 50 the guy still produces breathtaking music that always has a message, if you don't have go out right now and buy Global a go-go by Joe Strummer and Mescaleros, you havce a Smeg guarentee you will love it.

thanks for the music Joe and thanks for inspiring so many other great bands.

agree with Meogwi, this has really bummed out my day, why someone like Joe Strummer should taken from us at 50 is beyond me comprehension.

Joe Strummer is dead... while people like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Michael Bolton still live...

    I just don't get it.

I wonder if the rest of the band will get somebody to sing with them, or will they do the same thing from last year where Green Day played a bunch of the Ramones' songs for them.
