Doesn't he have like no cartilage left in his knees? How painful would that be playing every other night?

How can you retire and then come back in less than a year and NOT go through an amnesty auction.

Something about that doesn't seem right. I would suspect that Portland would object to this and take it to court if necessary.

Why does Portland care whether Roy goes through an auction or not?

Mo money, mo money, mo money.

Suck a MLE out of some stupid team, then waive bye bye after half a season.

The team that picks a player up from the auction pays a portion of their salary.

If he immediately comes back from "retirement" he evades being placed on a crappy team for the next few years AND the team that he signs with is paying him money on top of his amnestied salary as opposed to paying out a portion of it, lowering the total amount Portland is obligated to pay.

Roy needs to go see the magic German who makes knee cartilage for Kobe.

It's not that much money and it's only money.

This whole thing could get a lot sadder than I expected.

I think this is the third time i've heard this, since he retired. It could easily take over a year, for him to just try it, so i'm not holding my breath..

Even Tracy McGrady felt fine playing in the empty gym. As other guy said, he has no cartilage in his knee so the pain will come back. Just calm down and forget about it, ask McGrady.
