    ^^^ oh you're like John Cusack's age.

What sucks is that when I visit an elementary school now, it's like filled with these hot chicks my age and would totally smash. Not so much when I was in elementary. I remember them being old.

Flower Mound Marcus, the school that my son will eventually attend (and back-to-back 5A basketball champs!) is #73 in Texas and #836 in the nation.

El Paso Irvin, where I went to school my sophomore year, didn't make the Texas list. I'm not at all surprised.

Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, CO, where I graduated high school from, is #19 on the Colorado list and #523 nationally.

Lamar was teaching there when I was in middle school. He came by my middle school every week to hold master classes but he left Westfield when I was in 7th grade (I think). I heard he is the percussion director at Klein Collins now. Are you talking about Alec Warren? He was my private lesson instructor throughout high school but he never held a director position.

There are only 169 ranked schools or so. Most of the schools are unranked. This is as useless a report as I've ever seen.

Word? Man you guys were weird. I remember once, we went to pick you all up, there was a dude wearing all black spandex, just sitting under a tree in angst. Then there was a girl, with purple hair, and butterfly wings, weirding out on the sidewalk.
In all seriousness I always found the dichotomy between the two schools amazing. One focused on strict rules, dress code, and exclusion based on grades. One focused on arts, letting students be themselves, and all that other fruity stuff. Both extremely academically successful, all on the same bus.

Pretty program dependent. At Lamar (where I went... #32 it appears), there were 3 programs: regular, advanced, and IB. Obviously, the IB program would be a lot higher individually than the others.

One of my kids goes to the 7th ranked high school in Texas, and my older son graduated from there. It's a terrific school, but completely across town from where we live in Southwest Austin. Such is life!

Which graduating class were you in? Was it recent? I'm curious to know about life there after the school went downhill and gone to uniforms.
