    I'm willing to bet she came over here for a Greencard or something, realized that she didn't want to spend the rest of her life with this guy, and decided to torch him so that she wouldn't have to go back to India. Really messed up situation.

    The messed up part is that he actually said something to the same effect :

    *Please read with Indian accent* "Why did she burn me?" he was heard to say as he was being wheeled to a medical helicopter. "Why did she burn me? All I was trying to do was love her."

    Not a very smart plan on her part. I mean there is a shower in the apartment after all - unless she dismantled the shower as well and it wasn't mentioned in the article.
