It'd be cool to see Case out there during a Texan's blowout. I've watched a lot of his games and always wondered how he'd do in the NFL without the shotgun and spread offense. I hope doesn't go the route of Klingler and Andre Ware...but I have a feeling he will if he plays.
I think that's exactly why he didn't get drfted. Too many of htese GM's watched these other quarterbacks in these run and shoot no huddle offenses get drafted high and fail and they all must have projected Keenum to be in that same boat. But I see something different about this kid. He has amazing accuracy and he plays with so much poise in the pocket. Plus he is mobile and tough. he takes a hit and gets right back up. He stays in the pocket and holds the ball to very last minute. He doesn't throw interceptions. 42 td's and only 3 int's is amazing in any league. More than amazing! Does that mean he can transfer it to the NFl? No one can say with any real authority one way or the other... but my gut says this kid will learn quickly and be ready if he gets an opportunity.
I think he didn't get drafted for three reasons: 1. U of H plays in the wrong conference 2. He doesn't have prototypical size 3. They think he's the product of a system. It's funny that they don't give him credit because he played against poor defenses for the most part - but he didn't have a great line or a 6'8 tight end to throw to either. It's funny, people act like big conference schools don't have their patsies lined up to play against - or like Brady Quinn's numbers (to name one former high draft pick) weren't inflated by having safety blankets for an easy near-guaranteed reception every time.
People are silly about the schedule; it rarely deviates much from year to year. Case in point: Games against 2011 playoff teams 2012: Five 2011: Five Games against teams that picked in the top 10 of last week's draft 2012; Seven 2011: Eight Games against 8-8/9-7 non-'11 playoff teams 2012: Four 2011: Three
There's a fairly simple reason for that - you don't want a 6-0 QB throwing behind a 6-4 line. It's just asking for batted down passes, and limits your playbook when a guy can't get cleans throws to both sidelines and is forced to lob on short routes.
