?

Are you in favor of tanking our final game to keep the 13th pick?

  1. Yes, let's get that 13th pick!

So here we are fellas, back to familiar territory.. Missing the playoffs by a hair yet again. So rather than being bitter and wanting to trade or fire certain people let's take a look at our scenario..

We are currently tied with Phoenix at 33-22 battling for that 13th pick.

    For the Suns:
They will be playing their last home game of the season against the Spurs. This could also be Steve Nash's last game as a Sun. The Spurs meanwhile have locked up top seed in the West and knowing Pop, he will rest his stars.

Result: Suns win (Finishes the season at 34-22)

    For the Rockets:
Final home game of the season against a should be tanking Hornets who has been getting W's as of late and putting their pick at risk. I could see them easily tanking their final game since they're basically tied with a few other teams right now for that potentially high draft pick.

Will the Rockets try hard to lose this game infront of their home crowd. They should but i doubt it.

End result: We will be putting that 13th pick at risk with a meaningless win over the Hornets since i see us finishing the season tied with Phoenix at 34-22.

We lost 7 out of 8 must win games. Now winning a must lose game could hurt us even more.

13th pick, 14th pick meh. Basically the same thing. We are going to try and trade the picks anyway for an all-Star.

We might get lucky and hit the jackpot...that would be sweeeeeeet.

I am almost meh about everything right now. Maybe its because the Texans draft is right around the corner and you can actually get pro bowlers no matter where you pick in the first round? I dont know.

I say 13th pick, plz. If nothing else, it'll give us that much better of a pick to trade with, and/or a tiny improvement in our tiny odds of getting a top 3 pick. Unlikely as hell, sure... but hey, hope's free.

No one will remember a no bearing win over the Hornets but a single drop in the draft pick could possibly haunt us.

For example, New York was 1 pick away of getting Stephen Curry and ended up with Jordan Hill. I know we're not talking about top 10 picks here but anything could happen.

San Antonio is fighting for best record in the NBA. So they have something to fight for, Phoenix has nothing to gain by winning.

Houston can lose one spot by winning, New Orleans can lose two spots.

All I am saying... might not be much n luck but
Markieff Morris - solid contributor off the bench 13th pick
Marcus Morris - in the Dleague, injured, less than 10 games 14th pick

    I'll take the 13th pick

This discussion is academic, there is no way either Phoenix or New Orleans will put any effort towards winning. You can move on those games as if they were already played. We've got the 14th pick locked up, for the third year in a row.

Feels like the 05 season all over again, except for a mediocre pick.

And in the 2010 draft, Ekpe Udoh went one spot ahead of Greg Monroe. Wesley Johnson went one spot ahead of DeMarcus Cousins.

Our game could end in a 0-0 tie.

I want the 13th pick but we'll try & move up with whatever we end up with! But I would like to see McHale play the younger players like C. Fortson, M. Morris, D. Simpson, G. Smith so we can see what they have before going into the off-season. But he'll probably play to win & still loose!

Lowry & Martin are already done
Camby should sit cause he has no reason to play through pain anymore.
Patterson should set up foot surgery if he still has problems so he'll be ready to go next season.
Boykins was just a fill in & has no chance of coming back next season.

    Dragic, Fortson
    Lee, Budinger
    Parsons, Simpson
    Scola, Morris
    Dalembert, Smith

People are saying the Hornets and Suns are not going to try, why is it automatically assumed the Rockets are going to try??? Have they tried their best the last 8 games, the effort sure was lacking so let's hope that continues though given our history and typical Rockets fashion we will come out relaxed and it's a blowout. Not much to gain when you win here, lose = automatic 13th pick!!!!

Since SA has already secured the top spot, I'm sure they will be resting everyone. We'll see if the Suns throw their game for the 13th spot.

If we finish tied with Phoenix, the Suns have the tiebreaker.

Since the Suns are playing a Spurs team likely to rest its starters, they'll prob'ly win.

So let's actually try to win and just see where the chips fall etc etc platitude bromide cliche etc.
