Dont forget Motiejunas and the incoming draft picks. PPat & Parsons are not likely to play though. The Rockets Summer league team should be pretty fun to watch actually. I always need a good excuse to go to Vegas. Why not the Rockets.
I don't know if Marcus Morris is a bust or not but what I do know is, that Chandler Parsons (a rookie 2nd round pick), beat out everyone for the starting SF position. Morris needs to play significant minutes in this last game and needs a big Summer League.
To what are you basing "pretty good in the D-League"? Morris... * Shot 25.5% from the arc (200th best) * Shot 45.7% from the field (161st best) * Shot 73.0% from the line (185th best) * Blocked shots at .73 per 48 minutes (162nd best) * Rebounded at 13.2/48m (51st but behind Nick Fazekas, Yi Jianlian, Luke Harangody, Greg Ostertag and Dan Gadzuric) Morris committed 26 TO's and 25 PF's in 330 D-League minutes. That's a combined 5 for every 32 minutes on the court. Now...wouldn't we expect a 4 year collge player from an elite school to at least crack a Top 50 at something?
Are you seriously complaining about 73% from the FT line? Or comparing his rebounding rate and FG% as a small forward to the entire league which includes centers? Or saying that a combined 5 TO's and PF's per 32 minutes is horrible? You're cherry picking stats. - Amongst all forwards, including power forwards, he's 13th in rebounds per 48. - He's 17th in PPG and only one person in the top 16 played less minutes per game. - His combined TO's and fouls are fine. In the NBA, Dragic has 6 combined in 32 minutes on fewer possessions. Parsons has 4 per 32 minutes with much less usage. Morris in the NBA? 4.5 per 32 minutes. OMG how terrible! How dare you foul?!?!?!?
Funny....you're so obsessed with him being a SF and you slide right past the 3 bricks in 4 attempts from the arc. I guess a certain amount of rationalizing must be used when your Lottery pick can't minutes over 2 second-rounders. Guess it's going to take a Joey Dorsey exit before you Morris jock-riders figure out he's a player without an NBA position who should be MUCH further along after 4 years of elite level college ball. Why don't you get back to me when he actually does something in the NBA. And no...Summer League counts for nada. See Langhi, Dan.
The irony is that I was not impressed with the Morris pick or his D-league performance. Nor do I think he can make the transition to SF. I thought he'd be a less athletic Drew Gooden at best. I've probably got the same opinion of him as you do, but your criticisms are so stupid that I'm compelled to argue against you. Now you're implying that a 25% 3pt shooting from a SF is unacceptable? Carmelo shot 28% from downtown for the first four years of his career. This year, Rondo shoots 25%, Wade shoots 26%, and Kobe shoots 30% from downtown and they're all-star guards. Morris is a very bad player. He's a bad positional defender, his handles are weak, his lateral quickness is inadequete, and most importantly he struggles to play within an offense. There's so much to hate him for. Bashing him for his FT%, rebound rate, and turnover rate, all of which are fine, is like me criticizing Thabeet for his shot blocking. EDIT: Also, the Morris twins were juniors, not seniors. They didn't play four years of college, not that it matters.
^ very well said, though 25% from 3 point land is not good... for Morris or Rondo. Doesn't mean he can't be a good player, of course. I don't have the stats, but feel like he probably jacked from 3 point land too much. Which means his low 3 point % probably impacted his overall %. What was his 2 point only FG%? Not that it matters, I agree with your concluding opinion.
Free Marcus Morris? No, I don't think we should be cut him just yet, but we could toss him in as trade fooder for a real player.
Y'all r crazy the guy hasn't even played this year at all. Untill he gets playing time nobody knows what he's capable of. Me personally think he is gonna be a very good player at sf in the league wether that's for us or someone else. I think tyr argument that he sucks cause parsons beat him out is stupid. Parsons would have beat a lot of sf out in the nba thi year rookie or not and is one of the top 5 rookies this year. Do basically pardons has played better than almost every good rookie this yr that's a good thing and it doesn't mean Morris is a bad player. I'll make a bet with anyone that by the end of next season Morris is considered by this board the better player than parsons.
MORRIS IS NOT PLAYING BECAUSE KEVIN MCHALE IS RACIST. (YES ANOTHER BLACK MAN PLAYING THE RACE CARD. FUCK IT).
i thought morris looked good in the LIMITED minutes he has seen despite his unfamiliarity with his teammates and jitters. his DEFENSE is what i think is killing him. idk he looks kind of slow at times to me. if i had to guess, i would think CBud is better on defense than morris is AT THIS POINT IN TIME
I don't know if Mchale is a racist or not but I do know that Parsons was way better than Morris and that's why he wasn't playing at the 3.
He never said he didn't wanna play the power forward position. The Rockets see him as being a good small forward with size and shooting ability. Once McHale gets fired or he gets traded to another team you suckas are gonna be on piece cause we either had him and blew it or he was the real deal and you knew it.... Alllll along.
Did the Spurs have another rookie (a 2nd rounder) who surprised the organization and outplayed the first round pick at same position?
What does McHale have to do with Chandler and Bud beating out Morris for the 3 guard spot? Or do you think Morris was going to be out Patterson and Scola?
Morris can score, and create his own shot off the dribble from what I've seen. No reason he shouldn't get minutes. They need to develop his game...
