Should we trade Hawkins or Posey.

They are both fighting for contracts now, and likely going to be selfish transition guys outrunning Steve and Cuttino on fastbreaks waving for the ball all the time like Shandon, just getting in the way of a Francis clear-out.

We are not going to trade either one!
Posey is better at offense and Hawkins is a good defensive player. Posey is going to be a free agent and will want money. So if we were going to trade them, I would trade Mr. Posey unless he is awesome with the Rockets this year.

If that's the case...I say trade for more defensive swingmen!

    lol...
Hawkins is getting 2 steals in 10 minutes. He is pretty hardworking, but he can't really score.
We need a guy who can defend like Hawkins and can shoot like Wesley Person...the guy on the Memphis Grizzlies who is ranked #1 in three-point % and shot the game winner over the Houston Rockets. That would be nice...
Hopefully James Posey is good because Kenny Thomas was becoming good.

Thank you!!! I absolutely agree! I don't think we will making anymore trades soon... when and what was the last trade that the Rockets made before Kenny Thomas? Terence Morris and Steve Francis are both from Maryland. Rudy Tomjanovich, Maurice Taylor, and Glen Rice are from Michigan.

We should trade Jason Collier, Terence Morris, and maybe Maurice Taylor for Rashard Lewis!!! Go Elsik High School!

It was sad to find out Kenny Thomas was gone.

Hint: If we don't want them (Morris, Coillier, etc.), nobody else does either.

Right, Rashard Lewis. That'll clear up our logjam at tall underweight guy who stands outside jacking 3's.

Well, let's not trade before we figure out if he fits in well.

    Will,
Cool articles at slate and new republic. Didn't realize it was you until the bbs was down after the game and had to go through all the other web links at clutch in boredom.

    There is no log jam.

Rockets need to upgrade the SF spot.

James Posey will eventually replace the over-the-hill Glen Rice.

Posey is 10 years younger too and has better handles.

This means Eddie Griffin and Maurice Taylor will man the PF spot, but Griffin needs to bulk up.

What are yall talking about, we just got Posey and yall already want to trade him away. Really, let's see this guy play first before we start seeing the Posey, Morris, Taylor for Brand and a first round pick threads.

There is no doubt that Posey is offensive-minded and can score but if you look at his stats in the past he shoots a very low fg%. I have to say that even though KT was somewhat erratic, I really do hate to see the guy go.

Ya'll are coming up w/ trades.. again?? And I think ya'll really underrate Morris, he's not a bad player. I think with with the 3 being manned by Rice, Morris, and Posey is great for this team. And later Nachbar replaces Rice of course, but this combo at the 3 seems to be what the Rox need. Nachbar/Rice can come in and shoulder some of the scoring load (usually when the main scorers are resting?) while Posey and Morris provide the much needed D at sf. I think it's fine.

Oh my God. It's been a while since I posted and I can't believe that an entire Smeg thread would go by without anyone getting the joke. I guess that's the drawback to this place blowing up.

Word to the newbies. If a thread doesn't make a lot of sense and the person who started it has been here a while. Take a few seconds to read previous posts from that member. Smeggy joins us from Australlia and if he can take the time to BS with other fans half way across the world, the least we can do is enjoy his sense of humor.

Ya know, I kind of got that impression too. However, I didnt want to offend SS by calling him on his joke if it turned out he actually was serious. :D

PS - Shame on you SS!!!

This thread does remind me of wallstreet. The animal spirits are following our first trade of the season.

Good call RIET! Yet your logic has not been followed by most of these posters.
