Did you notice the "and that's what I saw during the playoffs." Crazy, I didn't know they won that series! EDIT: channeling to much SamFisher
Ive seen too many games where Durant is 12/19 from the field, and WB is 9/24 from the field How many of 24 shots could have gone to Durant, KD is more efficent and usually makes his shots
At one point in the season some Thunder writer said Westbrook was shooting 47% in the clutch to Durant's 41%. Don't know what that percentage is now.
If you think Westbrook gets the blame now, just wait until the playoffs when he blows up after some combination of either Artest, Barnes, Kobe or Manu, Parker, SJax push, tug, and hack around on him while talking in his ear.
Did you even read his post. How long are you going to milk your vague and useless stat about taking the most shots. And no your stat doesn't indicate OKC is a better team when WB shoots more. The problem isn't as black and white like you are claiming. WB is a great scorer, nobody is telling him to stop scoring and shooting. It's a lot of the on court decisions he makes that people questions. He sometimes does a lot of dumb things like not running sets and decides to iso randomly which takes his teammates out of their rhythm. Whether he ends up making a shot, making a turnover, or making a pass after he iso's is a moot point. Because he's a really athletic and talented guard, he gets away with a lot of stupid plays because he eventually puts the ball in the basket against weaker defenders. But once playoffs start, people start to not allow those easy buckets, his boneheaded decisions will cost them possessions. I've watched a bunch of OKC games this season. WB is a great player on the offensive side and can be a really clutch scorer down the stretch. But he's has become one of those WB giveth and WB taketh away kind of player by simply playing dumb hero ball when his team needs a basket. For example, I don't remember who it was against, but he scores like 5-6 points in a row to tie the game. Next possession after a time out, dribbles down the court, calls a pick, jacks up and clanks a three with 19 seconds left on the shot clock. Next possession, one man fast break, dribbles all the way to the basket and gets blocked. The other team scores, game over. This discussion is not about exactly how many shots he takes, it's about him playing within offensive sets and under control. If he keeps doing the "Oh damn, I'm hot, let me heat check the next 3 possesions by iso'ing" it will cost them in the playoffs.
no. WB is also better in the clutch as someone mentioned. but why does WB get the blame whenever they lose?
