What day will the Rockets officially be eliminated from playoff contention

    This is just unbelievable how the Rockets just cannot under any circumstance play with any consistent urgency during the last week and a half. Its a different thing in the games that are just killing this team down the stretch. Tonight it was the fact that they missed 10 or eleven foul shots out of like 25 and that is very inexcusable for this team that still had a shot of playoff contention. We still got out rebounded tonight by double digits, and surprise, we blew another lead of a dozen or better. Why didn't Mchale put Dalembert in at all tonight. We could've really used him even for twenty minutes of he could've put Camby in for a few minutes of the fourth quarter. That cost us three wins right there probably. We probably lost about a dozen games this season in which we had a double digit lead. Boston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City (2nd meeting against them this year), Dallas(not last night but the meeting in Dallas before) L.A. Clippers, Indiana, Denver at home. The list goes on. We settle for three point jump shots when the opposing teams' defense hone in on us and we are just scared to penetrate. I've seen players even scared to take wide open shots and as a result, they turn the ball over on a force pass or get a low percentage shot at the end of the shot clock.

    So what day will the rockets officially be eliminated? I'm thinking this time next Thrusday?? The Jazz just need to win 2 more, the Suns to take LAC and DEN. Plus us losing to the heat on Sunday. Or it might come to the very last day of the regular sesaon. Who knows but this team doesn't deserve it right now.

    no it didn't....we are not eliminated until we lose another game or Jazz and Suns win 2.....we would still get in if we went 3-0....and Jazz and Suns lost 2 each...

    or if Denver loses its last 4 games...

    The Knicks made it in but it is not clear if it is 7th, 8th or 6th if Orlando slips....

    Well technically if Houston beats GS they will still be in it but if we lose that game we would be out with both UTA & PHX winning. It might go to the last day of the regular season.

    That is what happens when you have no Kevin Martin. It's like they don't know each other sometimes on the court and don't know who to pass it to and then realize the shot clock is down to 5 seconds and have to jack up a shot.

    Last night should be enough already to tell you we are out, but mathamatically we should know by the end of the weekend.
    The Rockets can now only hope, they no longer have any control. :(

    Phoenix and Utah play each other once more. Whoever wins that game will likely get the 8th spot.
