I am a tiny bit surprised we lost to the Hornets yes. Not with the skid to become a 500 team again. I pretty much predicted it from the begining and said this exact thing would happen before the seasons started. I wanted for Morey to do something. He finally does and then Stern steps in. Even still I am not sure what Morey was gonna do was a very good thing. It delayed us but ultimately I think Stern actually helped us out from Moreys aweful move he was about to do with Pau Gasol.
Your poll answers don't really match the thread title question. But anyway, I predicted a .500 record and 9th place finish before the season started so they're pretty much on track. I was upset at first but hopefully this is the sign to management that we desperately need to rebuild, instead of being a mediocre team.
I am very shocked, it just seems like front office pulled the plug IMO. No, way we loose to Hornets, I'm not buying that at all.
Exactly. Anyone predicting one of the hottest teams in the league last week would become one of the coldest this week is a liar.
if the closest thing you have to a 'gets-his-own-shot' player barely scrapes the 6' notch on the scale, and then misses a considerable chunk of games down the stretch, how can you get excited about the team's direction? Bring back Stevie Franchise to sit on the stage on Draft Order Day... and if you can't catch lightning in a bottle twice, you're at least manufacturing some fan's buy-in and impetus to rebuild. Oh, and drop ticket prices while you're at it...
We were stuck in the latter spots of the playoff hunt, now we are struck with a 6 game losing streak. I'm surprised we lost to Denver twice, really surprised we lose to the Hornets, granted they've been playing better lately at home. If they lose to the Warriors, I'm going to post a thread "Buck The Rockets!", on second thought, I won't. I'm just looking forward to an interesting offseason.
Shocked. Not shocked or surprised that we would finish a 500 team, that is about what one might expect with our roster. We lost Yao, got nothing. We traded Tracy, and none of the assets received are currently playing. Really shocked at the season ending choke. I know I saw some toughness from them during the year that should have gelled into a respectable showing in the first round. It just turned 180 degrees. Now is one of those times when it would be priceless to be a fly on the locker room wall.
Considering that only last week we were facing a not-so-great Jazz team at home, with a win mathematically giving us a 96% chance of making the playoffs...yeah, I guess you could say I'm surprised.
While mathematically maybe true, of we had won against the jazz and still lose the next 5 games we still would be on the outside looking in right now.
Our performance is on par or better than what I expected on opening day. But, compared to expectations 2 weeks ago, yeah I'm surprised. They didn't look like a bunch of chokers at that moment. If I knew at the beginning of the season that Dallas was going to take a big step back, that Phoenix would be so mediocre, and that Portland would right-out tank it at the deadline, then I would have liked the Rockets' chances to squeek into the playoffs. The competition isn't as tough as last season's.
