Whoa: The source of this story, David Pingalore, has a spotty record full of over-the-top claims -- but he correctly reported the initial story about Dwight requesting that SVG be replaced. With Dwight's back injury possibly requiring surgery, the Magic season is melting before our eyes.
Howard needs a good old fashioned ass kicking. Too bad nobody in the league can handle these task. At least not in this current, David Stern neutered era of quasi-womens league basketball.
Dwight Howard is damaged goods and a coach's nightmare but would you trade him for Lowry and Donatas. Morey would.
While I understand SVG can be tough as a coach, Dwight Howard is a freaking r****d. And in the annals of history, overrated.
I'm in the minority that thinks SVG is a jerk for throwing the Magic and Howard in the trash can. I respect his ability to coach, but I can't blame Howard for not wanting to play for the guy I'm not absolving Howard for his part in the drama, but SVG shouldn't be smelling like a rose.
When he put it out there that Howard wanted him gone, yes, he dropped a notch. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Howard was coming after his job. That's a big deal.
Sit out the post season? thats *****ing insane!!! somebody get his head out of his ass and tell him to grow up.
Probably Dwights Agent starting rumors, to get him out of Orlando Dwights Agent wants Dwight in a bigger city, he is trying to cause a rift in the organization. his agent is only looking out for himself, and Dwight is the one looking like the bad guy All of these sources could be anybody, but its most likely not Dwight
I wish HAkeem was around to just embarass howard on the court and show him what it takes to be a responsible franchise center. We were all so spoiled with both the loyalty, work ethic, and character of hakeem adn then Yao
SVG should have confronted Howard privately and told him exactly how he felt about being backstabbed. Instead, he's inflicted the maximum amount of damage to both Howard and the organization (and maybe himself). SVG has been around long enough to know public words have consequences and he completely nuked the rest of their season. If I were an NBA organization, I wouldn't trust SVG with my shoe size.
