A big "NO" to Carl Landry, he is what he is, a good role player that will ask for a sizable contract this off season and is already 29 yrs old this year, 30 next year. So no thanks. With that said I am for trading Patrick for a draft pick. Because truth be told, Motiejunas is a much more promising young big, then Patrick, given his physical tools and skill level. So Motiejunas coming over next season, kind of makes Patrick dispensable. Trading Patrick for a draft pick would allows to then use one of the draft picks to target a young center in the draft. Now a young front-line of Donatas Motiejunas and Meyers Leonard, Tyler Zeller or John Henson coming off the bench would be intriguing!
PPatt is an oddity. He has the tools or should I say HAD the tools (15 footer, defense, some jumping ability, hustle), but something went wrong after his minor foot surgery. He lost his explosiveness completely, he doesn't seem very quick on defense, he throws up some awkward shots in the post and hooks and such, his 15 ftr is gone, his rebounding is minimal, and he gets pushed around by bigs. Maybe he does need an offseason to work things out, especially his post game. But, dude just needs to get tougher and lower body work to improve his strength down low. I gotta believe the shot will come back, I think he has had a huge confidence problem this year with his shot and maybe that is becuase he got lost with trying to develop his post game. Either way he is still cheap and trade value is minimal, so we'll keep him, unless somebody wants him in a trade.
I still believe in PPat. He needs an actual offseason to work with McFail. Wait until after next year to judge.
I'm not too worried about PPat. Its been a weird offseason, he's had surgery which has been a setback to his development, and he's in a sophomore slump. I have high expectations for him next year though. If he doesn't step up his game this offseason, he's going to end up like Chase, a fringe rotation player beat out by a rookie (Parsons and Motiejunas).
Wow that is a lot to strive for. To be the next Carl Landry!! Funny stuff. Ppat is faling apart just like the rest of the team.
I miss landry or Mandry. Now that was a power forward, one of the most efficient in the fourth quarter. He didn't have to show us his shoulders..his game did the talking.
Patrick Patterson = Jumpers and Floaters Galore A big who plays small. Expect another one with our next draft pick!
Patterson never really recovered from surgery and will have another surgery the day after the season ends.I think he'll be much improved next year.
